    Re: Wedding Dress DONT'S & DO'S

Congratulations on the dress, dear. It sounds very appropriate.

Simple answer: not unless you want to look cheap. Nails should be clean, short and buffed to a healthy, natural shine.
    2 Timothy 3:16

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

This is correct. Long nails and nail polish are the hallmarks of a whore. Long nails also indicate that you are afraid of housework.

Thank you ladies so much! I definitely do not want to my beloved lord and master to see me as a lazy woman who tears down her house with her own hands like in Proverbs 14:1. I will not be painting my nails and will ensure they stay nice and short, ready to scrub, wax, and polish the floors some more!

This is definitely a DO, but the cut and sleeves should be a little higher.

Sadly, I can't get the image to show up.

My daughter and I have found this dress for her wedding. Do you all think it meets the requirements of modesty? I was very pleased with this find.

While I am by no means a True Christian woman, it definitely is modest. 2 Corinthians 11:2 - "For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present [you as] a chaste virgin to Christ."

I like how it is pure white, "And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints." Revelations 19:8.

My only slight concern is that some may think that it draws attention to the bodice with the creases in the fabric. 1 Timothy 2:9 "In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array."

And of course add a veil to it. 1 Cornthians 11:5 "But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven."

But otherwise, lovely dress. I hope your daughter has a lovely wedding and that she remembers 1 Peter 3:1-6 "Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your husbands; that, if any obey not the word they may without the word by won by the conversation of the wives; While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear; whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hear, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on apparel; but let it be the hidden man of the hear, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price; for after this manner, in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him Lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement."

I believe the neckline of that dress is a little low cut, but it isn't really over the edge, so to speak.

                  I would approve.

Thank you all for your lovely input! I can always let out and smooth the creases in the dress so it is more a of a plain bodice. That way, there will be less attention drawn to it. And no, my daughter is quite a healthy weight. She eats all the right foods that are considered to be what a True Christian would have.

                      Re: Wedding Dress DONT'S & DO'S

I must admit, I do not understand the time and attention given unto brides today. In my day, the wedding was not about making the bride feel and look like a princess, but about Jesus. The "Big Day" was the day in which a woman took vows to love, serve, and honor her husband, and we knew how that works. Today it's just about making a fashion statement.

Themed wedding dresses are a big deal now.

Although I can almost forgive a wedding dress "shout out" to God's favorite nation.

Women who think they are "all that" should be told less is not more.

Personally, I don't know why women want to dress in something so unpractical. After the wedding ceremony and everyone has gone home, the husband will be hungry, no doubt. It is the duty of the wife to find him a snack. I prefer dresses that are accommodating to a woman's new role as wife and help meet. These dresses show due modesty, and also hint to the fact that she's able to pull a plow for her husband should he but hint at the need. She would also be able to clean up the mess from such a party without tripping over such a long train.

It should go without saying, but now that Big Sodomy has chipped away at all that is decent and moral in our land, it must be said.

If there is no bride in your party,

                      YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG.

Since I have a suitor, I have been starting to look at wedding dresses and I have found some lovely ones. I apologize if the pictures do not show up, but if that is the case, it will show that I am a mere woman who knows little about technology (as I should, according to Samuel).

This dress is simple and would be lovely with longer sleeves and a higher neckline:

                          This one is perfect!

                          This one is also perfect:

Thank you, Sister! Unfortunately, they don't seem to work. Perhaps I'll try again later, since I need to teach Samuel's sister how to dye curtains.

Forgive me for double posting, but I'm going to try to post the pictures again.

The first one is lovely, but the neckline needs to be higher and the sleeves should be longer.

The second one is perfect, but the neckline should be a little less higher and a little more plain.

The third one is absolutely lovely (but the top and the sleeves should probably be lined.

And I love the hairstyles that the models have. Very simple and not in violation of 1 Timothy 2:9

(Hooray, it worked! Thank you again, Sister Elizabeth!)
