So you think we should just ignore certain parts of the Bible, but follow other parts.

    God thinks you're a demon.

Well Mr. Ezekiel, I am trying to read me trough this thread. And I wonder if this forum is a joke, or if you guys are serious. On one thread, someone is offering his 13 year old daughter for sale. At least that must be a joke. An Icelander wouldn´t even think of such a thing, not even after the countries bankruptcy (wonder why God robbed Iceland of all countries - even Sweden would have been better, more money you see... )

I didn't put her up for sale. I asked how much I could get for her. The Bible has clear rules for the selling of one's daughter.

Exodus 21:7-11 And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do.
If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her.
And if he have betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters.
If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.
And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out free without money.

It's right before the commandment against murder.

12He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death.
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

The New Testament contains over 900 quotes and references from the Old Testament, in every single book. Jesus himself quotes the Old Testament almost 200 times. The New Testament would make absolutely no sense at all if you did not know about the Old, because it is constantly referring to the other one.

Likewise, the Old Testament is incomplete without the New one, and the New Testament fulfills the prophecies of the Old.

Yes, because it was a false Church. People who do not have the light of God fear the truth. If you were comfortable, there was no light in that building.

          Me, afraid of you?

My faith doesn't need strengthening, thanks.

Which just goes to show what a horrible place Scandinavia is. God demands the death sentence.

What does the Bible say about the death penalty / capital punishment? According to the Bible, for what crimes should a person be put to death?

In the times of the Bible, it was also common for people to commit adultery, worship statues, and offer their children as sacrifices. Yet God forbid this. God not only ALLOWS slavery, he institutes laws for how to regulate it, and demands slaves keep working for their masters.

Exodus 21:2 has the rules for buying a slave.

Exodus 21:7 has the rules for selling your daughter into slavery.

Exodus 21:20-21 says you are allowed to beat your slave as long as he does not die on the same day that you beat him on.

Exodus 22:3 says convicted thieves should be sold into slavery.

Leviticus 22:11 has the rules for a priest to buy a slave.

Leviticus 25:39 says you should buy poor people to be your slaves.

Leviticus 25:44-46 says that you have the right to take anyone from another country to be your slave, and you can own them forever, and pass them onto your children.

Ephesians 6: 5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ.

Colossians 3: 22 Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord.

1 Timothy 6: 1 All who are under the yoke of slavery should consider their masters worthy of full respect, so that God’s name and our teaching may not be slandered.

Titus 2: 9 Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them, 10 and not to steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive.

1 Peter 2: 18 Slaves, in reverent fear of God submit yourselves to your masters, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh.

There are more if you want them.

Actually, I couldn't agree with you more. We here at Landover want to replace democracy with a Godly theocracy. However, we are bound to obey the secular laws. Still, we would all prefer to have a King and the only law to be the Bible. God does not stand for democracy.

Luke 19:12-27 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.... But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.... But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.
Numbers 16:1-35 Now Korah...and Dathan and Abiram...and On...rose up before Moses, with...250 princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown: And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?...And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment...And it came to pass...that the ground clave asunder that was under them: And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and ... they, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation.
Jeremiah 10:23 O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
Well, I´ve considered myself friendly towards Christianity, even though I would never be known for worshiping Mr. Jahve.

As I read more, I can only assume, that either you´re all a wonderful comedians, or you´re all very, very, VERY sick.

I think, that in 20-30 years, US of A will have been divided into 4-5 states, the two most powerful beiing United States of America, and Jesus States of America.

Many Europians hope that your agenda will win over the federal goverment (I´m not one of them, I want you all to know that). Beliving the Earth to be 6000 years old, not knowing that light travels etc, would eventually make Jesus States of America a country along with N-Korea, Iran, some African countries and so on. All your best scientists would flee over to Europe (like the ones who fled Hitler and went to the United States once). And you do have many of the best scientists in the world. At least for the moment...

I don´t know, I find it rather peculiar, that one denies what one can clearly see, but then be standing so firm on beliving in the existence of an invisible Beiing, living in the sky, called God.

Not that I myself have any difficulties beliving in an invisible God, but I do not deny what is clearly visible.

You know - Galilei Galileo (1564-1642) was the first man to watch the sky and the stars with a telescope. He realized and showed that Copernicus had been right 70 years earlier, about the Earth turning around the Sun, not the other way around.

When the Catholic church denied this, Galileo asked them to look into the telescope. They refused. Refused to face the facts. I am obliged to respect your faith, and I gladly do. One day you guys realize the truth, like the rest of us. And hopefully understand that this huge Universe only makes God google-fold bigger...

You must be really naive to just blindly accept what the scientists tell you. There is no evidence that the earth goes around the sun, or that outer space even exists. The Bible explains the universe perfectly well, and I won't let evil people like you try to fool me.
