Genesis 22:10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. 11And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.
12And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.



God was only testing Abraham to make sure he feared Him. Abraham followed God's orders and put the knife to Isaac's throat. In His mercy He then told Abraham to slaughter a ram instead. Glory!


However God gave Isaac life in the first place, if God did decide that Abraham should cut his throat how can that possibly be wrong? God gives life, he can take it away.
