Friend, your being portugese means we give you a lot of latitude and therefore our expectations from you are really quite minimal.

What Mary was saying (bless her female heart) was we follow the Holy Bible EXACTLY as Certified(c) by God. We do what it says. We do not try and 'figure out what it means'. God already figured EVERYTHING out. Our obligation regarding the Bible is to simply look up the appropriate passages and apply them to our and those around us, lives. If God wanted the Bible interpreted or parts omitted, He would of said so in a foreword or on the book jacket.

OK, interpret that! God is kicking ass on behalf of Elisha who was being lipped by disrespectful children. That's the God you're dealing with: a God who will happily rip 42 children to pieces because they were rude to a prophet. I suppose you would have sat them down in a focus group and discussed how being rude to bald old men is wrong and they should reflect on their naughtiness. Not so with God. One look from Elisha was enough to get Him calling the savage wild animals.

And think of it. Those bears were awesome bears. They could chase down 42 kids - that's 21 each - and rip them to pieces in the name of the Lord. They were like awesome super bears from God. No ordinary bears could do that. Further evidence that only God could do this.

Our God is a great God and you should be afraid. Very afraid.
