Harry Potter Pot Punk Charged With Having Homemade Bomb in London Riots

Jamie Waylett, the actor who played Draco Malfoy's tubby sidekick Vincent Crabbe in six Harry Potter films, is facing a slew of charges—including being in possession of a petrol bomb—stemming from his alleged involvement in this summer's London riots.

Police also discovered 15 cannabis plants in his bedroom—a big no-no considering the thesp was busted for growing marijuana in 2009.
Looks like someone was taking his Slytherin part too seriously.

Authorities allege the 22-year-old Waylett armed himself on Aug. 8 with a Molotov cocktail with intent to destroy or damage property during the melee that made worldwide headlines and led to the arrest of more than 3,000 people.

Waylett' served 120 hours of community service for his 2009 marijuana arrest—an incident that apparently led to his character being written out of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.

According to U.K. media reports, London's Finest has officially charged Waylett with violating the Criminal Damage Act by possessing the explosive, threatening unlawful violence, cultivating cannabis and being in possession of stolen goods in the form of a champagne bottle that he purportedly looted from a liquor store.

The big-screen bully was released on conditional bail Sept. 29 after promising the Highbury Corner Magistrates Court he'll live with his mother and abide by a 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew.

Waylett's next court date is set for Nov. 11.

I think we all know what happened in the Third Harry Potter book "Prisoner of Azkaban", when Harry Potter flies into a rage and actually BLOWS UP his own Aunt Marge! Inspiring millions of children across the world to want to blow up members of their own family!

If that doesnt inspire children to be terrorists, I dont know what does?

It's a well known FACT that Harry Potter Inspires School Shootings, and probably inspired Columbine.

Let's look at the time-line -

On 30 June 1997 the first Harry Potter book - 'Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone' is released.

On 2 July 1998 is the second novel 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets' is released

On 20 April 1999, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold walked into Columbine High School, and brutally murder 12 students and 1 teacher. They also injured 21 other students directly, and three people were injured while attempting to escape.

Co-incidence? I think NOT!

'Ban Harry Potter or face more school shootings'

A woman who maintains that the Harry Potter books are an attempt to teach children witchcraft is pushing for the second time to have them banned from school libraries.

Laura Mallory, a mother of four from the Atlanta suburb of Loganville, told a Georgia Board of Education officer that the books by British author J.K. Rowling, sought to indoctrinate children as Wiccans, or practitioners of religious witchcraft.

Referring to the recent rash of deadly assaults at schools, Mallory said books that promote evil - as she claims the Potter ones do - help foster the kind of culture where school shootings happen.

That would not happen if students instead read the Bible, Mallory said.
She added that the books were harmful to children who are unable to differentiate between reality and fantasy.

The children, she said, try to imitate Harry Potter and cast spells on classmates.

"They're not educationally suitable and have been shown to be harmful to some kids," Mallory said.

She argued that teachers do not assign other religious books like the Bible as student reading.

It was Mallory's second public campaign against the popular fiction series, after trying to get her son's elementary school to ban the books in August 2005.

Victoria Sweeny, an attorney representing the Gwinnett County Board of Education in Atlanta's eastern suburbs, which had ruled against her in May, said that if schools were to remove all books containing reference to witches, they would have to ban mainstays like "Macbeth" and "Cinderella."

"There's a mountain of evidence for keeping Harry Potter," she said, adding that the books don't support any particular religion but present instead universal themes of friendship and overcoming adversity.
Sweeny said parents, teachers and scholars have found them a good tool to stimulate children's imagination and encourage them to read.

The hearing officer presiding over the appeal will make a recommendation to the state board, which will then decide the case at its meeting in December.

Mallory is appealing after the Gwinnett County school board ruled in favour of the books.

Wiccans consider themselves witches, pagans or neo-pagans, and say their religion is based on respect for the earth, nature and the cycle of the seasons.

It's obvious that these harmful tales of witchcraft, sorcery and murder need counteracting by wholesome Bible tales.

Who can forget the glory of the first time we heard tell of Abraham offering Isaac to God as a sacrifice. My heart was in my mouth with the suspense of it all as the teacher in class got us on the edge of our seats. Would Abraham slit Isaac's throat and then burn him for God or not? All of us five year old innocents, wide eyed as we had the first taste of a true tale of Godly wonder! I remember it as though it were yesterday.

Then we beheld the majesty of God's mercy as Abraham freed Isaac and sacrificed the ram instead. God was only joking and testing Abraham to see if he would go through with it. How we all wished we had a holy dad like Abraham who loved God so much he would found a dynasty and we would be at the very head of that wonderful family when we grew up.

Happy days...
