Friend, if you're already going to a church you're happy with, then why do you need us to teach or guide you?WARNING:

Well hello there young Samwise,
I'm pleased to read that your Church (by the way...what is its name?) adheres to KJV 1611. I would personally not call your Church "old fashion", but use a word like "steadfast". A Church which does not feel the need to change itself to every time some new fang dangled nonsense becomes popular, like the NIV bible or same sex marriage, is my kind of church
I changed your words a little in the quote. I always capitalize the name God, when I am writing about the One True God, and always capitalize the word "Word", when I'm referring to The 1611 KJV Bible.
Phil58 If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD; 59 Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance. 60 Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee. 61 Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bringk upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
Deuteronomy 28: 58- 61

Re: teach me guide me
I have terrible news. A friend of mine has informed me that "Samwise Gamgee" is a character in "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit," both of which are apparently novels and movies related to the "Dungeons and Dragons" board game, and which promote a belief in witchcraft and demonism.
I want to think the very best of our new friend here, but I have to wonder why he would choose a username that glorifies demonism?
I am very sad right now.WARNING:

Re: teach me guide me
Originally posted by Mary Etheldreda View PostYes dear, I do know that. I asked you why it moved you so.
Israelite behaviours, their attitude to God and to their Holy City, typify the path to Redemption we've all trodden except that of course we actually accepted Deliverance when it was offered rather than having God nudged off to a kangaroo court and murdered out-of-hand.
JONAH 2 . KJV . look up . context
8 They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
9 But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.
The Israelites decided not to sacrifice appropriately which is the same as not sacrificing at all which made them scum. Even when God prepared Himself as a suitable sacrifice they sniffed. If they'd bothered to understand Ezekiel they would have recognised what was taking place:
SCUMEZEKIEL 24 . KJV . whole chapter
3 [God speaking] Utter a parable unto the rebellious house, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Set on a pot, set it on, and also pour water into it:
4 Gather the pieces thereof into it, even every good piece, the thigh, and the shoulder; fill it with the choice bones.
5 Take the choice of the flock, and burn also the bones under it, and make it boil well, and let them seethe the bones of it therein.
6 Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose scum is therein and whose scum is not gone out of it! bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall upon it
So for the visually challenged here God is comparing a city with a pot in a parable. The pot represents the city. What is inside the pot represents what is inside the city. People. These people are scum because they don't follow God.
COLOSSIANS 3 . KJV . whole chapter
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth..
5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
. . . . . . . .AN IDOLAN IDOL. . . . . . . . . .Idols are not only grotesque little statues.
The Bible is plain. Idolatry includes being (or chasing after) trollops, not washing and therefore smelling like tramps, obsessing over Johnny Depp or Hedy Lamarr, longing for better pie recipes than her-across-the-road, urgently requiring a better Lamborghini than the twit next door or more de-luxe children: I'm sure you get the idea.
Heathens have no concept of what God wants. That is why heathens are scum.
“What would God like to smell?” is not a question they ever think about. Israelite sacrifices done wrong would produce similar smoke to any other probably so there must be some specific element involved enabling God to distinguish the aromas.
When Jesus was bleeding out for me writhing in agony, how did God feel?
As He hung there all those centuries ago what additional element did He contribute, changing the universe forever?
SWEETSMELLINGEPHESIANS 5 . KJV . whole chapter
1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
It was Jesus’ suffering that appealed to God, the way He'd been whipped and spat upon, mocked and nailed up there and poked with a spear. That is the sweet fragrance contributed by Jesus and it moves me so, when I consider heathen scum and how they are blind to such beauty.
