Thank you DGEFM, or "the Nomad" for adhering to the minimal standards of providing an introduction post.

You have have offered us a name, (many of them, actually) and you included a verse from the Bible. Alas, you have not stated your official position vis a vis your acceptance or rejection of the Bible as the explicitly revealed Holy Ordinance of the One True God.

Instead your choice of Bible verses seems intended to communicate some esoteric understanding of your (imagined) sense of self.

Also, you have committed the most common error of the Biblically ill-informed. It is the book of "Revelation", not "Revelations", you wanna be spooky and imposing ninny.

Welcome, Mr. Miller. I am somewhat concerned over your use of a false bible to provide us with inspirational quotes, but I suppose I should just be glad that I can read the words, now that you have reverted to normal fontage. Do tell us of your relationship with Jesus and kindly use the King James Version of the Holy Bible for all further reference. We here find it unseemly to tamper with God's divine word.

Worse than that, Sister, he's called it Relevations! I wonder if he calls Leviticus Levitations.

I do not know what you are talking about, and I'm not sure if I really want to, assuming that this supposed to make me feel uncomfortable. As for Relevation and my Bible source: I find it hard to believe that if there are so many different Bible-translations, why specifically the King James Bible is the only accepted one. Mark 5:9 was from the Standard American Bible (excuse me if I have written it wrong), and I'd rather not name my source on the Relevation quote.

As for my choosing on the side of Saints and Sinners: I do not take part in the war of the Holy Church. I am but a man who wishes not to be bothered by most of the Catholicism, assuming Baptism is one of the many "offsprings" of that religion. I wish to adhere to my beliefs in oneself, that being the power of will and the power of determination.

I also not a man for the in-depth religious affairs, if they aren't bothering me personally, I tend to steer clear of the church. God has done so many things against my family and friends that I'd rather not bother him onec I mistakenly go to the Judgement. Knowing that I'm lazy as a sloth, I'd miss the day that it is on.

          No hard feelings?

            No hard feelings?

No hard feelings, friend. We are here to bring the unsaved to Jesus, not to argue with them, though many come here to attack us. We are Christians here and thus have nothing at all in common with the Roman church. The Romans are idol worshippers who put priests between their people and God. That is contrary to God's law. The Roman church is also the traditional refuge of neer do wells, homosexuals and lay abouts of every sort. We are honest and upright Christians who are doing God's bidding.

There are many versions of the Bible that have been written by men who thought they knew God's word better than God Himself. They will all have to explain themselves to the Lord on the Day of Judgement, which is near. I expect they will taste His wrath. There is but one true representation of God's word and that is the King James Version of 1611. I urge you to refer to and read that Bible, for it is the very word of God.

              .
Sister Joanna has pointed out that you have substituted the word, "Relevation" (which doesn't exist) for the word "Revelation",which is singular and the correct name for the final book of God's Holy Bible. I can assure you that no one wishes to make you feel uncomfortable per se.

However, we do tend to crack down on inaccurate claims about the Bible. Moreover, while making up words isn't as troubling to us as making up stuff about the Bible, it is irksome at times.

Just why are you reluctant to "name your source" on a Bible quote? What are you, some kind of investigative journalist standing bravely against "The Man"? I assure you, the apostle who penned those pages won't get into any further trouble with the law. If I recall correctly, he was exiled to an island or some other isolated place when the Holy Spirit came to him and had him serve as God's final scribe.

. . .I am but a man who wishes not to be bothered by most of the Catholicism, assuming Baptism is one of the many "offsprings" of that religion. I wish to adhere to my beliefs in oneself, that being the power of will and the power of determination.

If you truly would rather not be bothered by religion, why have you wandered into our forum? What did you expect to find here?

With a clear and accurate understanding of the Bible, you will have no fear of the Day of Judgement.

              No hard feelings?

As it has been pointed out by Sister Joanna, it's spelled REVELATION, not "Relevation."

Greetings Nomad! I am Trevor McGregor who is a student here in Babylon and late of Kingston in Jamaica. I welcome you to this forum even though I am not a member of the forum. I am not a Baptist because I am Rastafari but I have found these Baptists to be no more racist than most white people and they have accepted me even though they know that I am studying them. I am certain they will welcome you as well. My best advice to you is to never argue with these Baptists because they are like most white people and they hate to be questioned.

                          The word is "impolite".

And I'm pretty sure that we have someone around here who can discuss the use of Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic in the Bible. If need be, they can explore annotations to the work written in Latin.

Nice use of the word "erudition" by the way. Know anything about the word "irony"?

                            Dear Sinner,

How wonderful that you are interested in the ancient vernacular of the Greek. Please, do not be alarmed but you should pay more attention to your translations. The proper noun Ἰωάννης takes the dative form Ἰωάννῃ, which would translate as 'to John', the indirect object.

However, the form you quoted, Ἰωάννου, is actually the genitive, John's or 'of John'. You may want to revise your translation attempt accordingly.

Of course, that is irrelevant and you need to replace nitpicking with proper Worship. We can help you.
