The way a woman glorifies God's Creation is by having as many babies as the womb can produce in its lifetime.

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Temptation, dear. You are creating temptation for men. As I explained elsewhere, men are visual creatures that react to whatever they are looking at at the moment. When you prance semi-naked in front of a man, you are responsible for lustful thoughts emerging in his head.

He was a very bad man,
You are using past tense - since he's not dead, are you assuming he repented, and now is a good, God-fearing Christian?

and I don't think it's Christian to blame the girls for what satan did with this man.
Well, and you are wrong. (See previously linked thread for Scriptural evidence).

I'm sorry if I'm being forward but I love gymnastics and think it glories God's creation.
Dear, if you cannot show Scriptural support for girls participating in sports (hint: you cannot), then your opinion is worthless and sinful.

Sister Basilissa, I couldn't agree more with your scripturally perfect advice to this sexual temptress. Nonetheless there are certain events I have heard about where women can compete against eachother and remain in alignment with God's wishes. One such event is competitive childbirth.

Hi, folks, we at the Extreme Sports Network are proud to be reporting from this year’s Childbirth Olympics. We’re especially fortunate to have world renowned childbirth expert Ima Frawd…

The idea is that the woman is graded on her chlldbirth performance with additional points awarded for difficulty (by an all-male committee, obviously), risk to child and mother, and adherence to Stone Age religious doctrine. I include an extract below of the first phase of the competition; there are 3 phases in all but this captures the essential spirit of the sport.

Competitors are awarded marks in each area: each competitor receives risk points, the object being to enter the arena with as many pre-existing childbirth risks as possible. Basic individual risks —breech, twins, postdates, VBAC —- receive small numbers of points. The key in this phase of the competition is to combine risks for bonus points. Bonus points are also awarded for women who willingly expose their babies and themselves to above average risks —- like a history of a previous stillbirth, intrauterine growth restriction, or a history of postpartum hemorrhage. pushing for more than 6 hours, ignoring thick meconium, or failing to monitor the fetal heart rate for hours at a time. The strategy in this phase is come as close as possible to killing your baby and yourself without actually dying. No, there’s no point penalty if your baby or you actually die, but you can’t brag about the award if you don’t live to see it.
If there is sufficient enthusiasm from the Pastors, I'd be happy to Chair the competitive childbirth committee. This could be an outreach opportunity for the pregnant, unmarried trash that continue to wash up on this precious island of God's Truth.
If I have seen further, it is by standing on the heads of others.

Hmmm... thank you for your responses and your thoughts. I love gymnastics, and always am doing it to the glory of Jesus.

I understand what you are saying, and I'm confused about what to do.

I will talk to my pastor and my coach and see what I can do.

            Amy,

It is time you knew something about "gymnastics". You won't find that word in the Glorious KJV per se but you can trace it back to the Greek original, where you can see how detrimental your passe-temps is.
            1. Gymnastics comes from the Grease word γυμνάζω, "to exercise naked", "to train". Bad stuff, as you can see. It occurs quite a few times in the Bible. We can take the Westcott-Hort and look for the derivative γυμνασία, -ας, -ἡ, which is the noun "exercise".
That is, in fact, 1 Timothy 4:8
For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

            • Bodily exercise = σωματικὴ γυμνασία = unprofitable idleness. True exercise™ is to study and practice godliness, as uttered by Paul in the verse above. If we look deeper, we can see in the Epistle to the Hebrews that the only form of useful exercise in indeed the Spiritual one that can help us discern the Will of God!

            Hebrews 5:14
But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Or, in Westcott-Hort for your benefit:
τελείων δέ ἐστιν ἡ στερεὰ τροφή, τῶν διὰ τὴν ἕξιν τὰ αἰσθητήρια γεγυμνασμένα ἐχόντων πρὸς διάκρισιν καλοῦ τε καὶ κακοῦ.
There it is again, in the form of perfect middle voice passive participle accusative neuter plural.

Now we can stop this unproductive conversation about scantily-clad gymnastics, there is absolutely no need to consult another pastor, let alone a "coach". The case is closed. The Bible is the only tool we need.

            Yours in Christ,

Re: Larry Nassar: not a Muslim pedophile, like you'd think

Just a quick update: apparently Dr. Nassar was found guilty of sexual assault of minors and sentenced to 175 years in prison. My, how times have changed! Let's recall an incident from waaaay back in 2016 involving a white Republican Christian instead of a brown(ish) science-worshipping Muslim:

Federal prosecutors made allegations of sexual misconduct against Dennis Hastert saying that he had molested at least four boys as young as 14 while he worked as a high school wrestling coach.
              ...
Addressing the court, Hastert read from a written statement, apologizing for having "mistreated athletes." After being pressed by the judge, Hastert admitted to sexually abusing boys whom he coached, saying that he had molested "Individual B" and did not remember some of the others. Hastert said he did not remember abusing Cross, "but I accept his statement." Hastert stated "what I did was wrong and I regret it ... I took advantage of them." Hastert also acknowledged that he had misled the FBI.

The judge in the case referred to Hastert as a "serial child molester" and imposed a sentence of fifteen months in prison. He was released after 13 months in prison.
              ...
Sixty letters asking for leniency for Hastert were submitted to the court ahead of sentencing, but nineteen of these letters were withdrawn after Judge Durkin said that he would not consider any letters that were not made public. Of the forty-one letters that were made public, several were from current or former members of Congress: John T. Doolittle, David Dreier, Thomas W. Ewing, and Porter Goss.
Praise the Lord for the power of letters of leniency. And praise the Lord for being fortunate enough in real estate so you pay $3.5m in hush money after a career as a high-school wrestling coach and member of congress.

Let's all petition our members of Congress to write letters for Dr. Nassar.
If I have seen further, it is by standing on the heads of others.

I've seen the light, and now understand that I must give up gymnastics. It's not a big price to pay to follow the right path... and Jesus.

Thank you all for your help in steering me in the right direction
