  • Introduction

Hi my names Tim. Thanks for the forum. I grew up in the church but have never fully committed to it, but now that I’m getting a little older I feel it’s time to try and do that. This seems like a really good place to do that. Unfortunately there are some things I need to change with my sins/habits. The biggest one probably being chronic masturbation. I have seen lots of good threads on this here already though so hoping I can beat the temptations.

I love that verse! I quote it each time someone tries to sell me some science logic stuff. If God wanted us to trust logic, science, and all that empirical evidence crap, He would not have allowed Proverbs 3:5 to be in the Bible.

              Re: Introduction

Hi .. It's always good to see someone reading The Bible and looking to express Christlike qualities in one's life. Proverbs is so encouraging and I'm glad you've chosen that for your intro.

Without understanding why Jesus needed to be killed how could anyone understand The Gospel? False teachers suggest "Oh, the old testament, we don't follow that" and of course some of God's message was for a specific time and place. He explains that where necessary; some dietary restrictions fall into that category for example. Judges is another great book and in The New Testament the epistles of John have helped many to appreciate Joy.

Not common old garden variety joy with which you may already be familiar but Real Joy, the delight of partaking in His Will expressed in psalms in the modern day.

              IS GOD A LIAR?

              I John

              WAS JESUS A REAL PERSON?

              II John

WHAT IS THE CONNECTION BETWEEN EVIL-DOING AND SEEING GOD? HINT: THERE IS NO CONNECTION

              III John

                Greetings and salutations, Timmaye.

Regarding your struggle with Onanism, feel free to heed Jesus's direct counsel:

                Matthew 5:30

And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

Mind you, if you are left-handed, this verse may not help you. Being left-handed is another problem altogether.
His left hand should be under my head, and his right hand should embrace me.

Oh wow, yes this is something I need to stop. Are there are methods I could try before to stop myself from wasting seed?

You could perhaps stop talking about it, dear? This is a matter between you and Our Beloved Savior and, although people are trying to be polite, nobody here is terribly interested in the behavior of what people in Britain call "complete and utter wankers".

That's good. So, welcome to Landover Baptist and do tell us more about yourself. Which Baptist Church do you attend? Does your pastor feed you with knowledge and understanding? (Jeremiah 3:15) How many hours a day do you dedicate to Bible Study, and why do you not dedicate more?

I look forward to fellowshipping with you.
