  • New "kid" on the block

Hello. I am a single Christian man who is seeking to talk with like-minded people. I might even meet the right girl to marry and have a family with. That's up to God though. Anyway, I grew up in the Nazarene Church, but have also attended Baptist, Lutheran, and Calvary Chapel churches.

I am a strong believer in traditional family values, traditional gender roles, and the traditional household structure of the man being the head of the house, and taking care of/providing for his family. I also believe the the man should set the example for his family, and make sure they follow his example and the household rules. When they fail, he should use Christian Domestic Discipline (usually a good old fashioned spanking) to guide them back to the correct path.

I came to know Jesus when I was 5 years old. I was in Sunday School and the teacher was talking about accepting Jesus into our hearts, and what that meant. She asked if any of us wanted to accept Him, and I said yes. I remember kneeling down in prayer and asking Jesus into my heart.

If anyone would like to talk to me, or has any questions, please let me know. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

What a wonderful introduction Proof positive that not everyone comes to our friendly forums only to ride roughshod over our most cherished beliefs.

God tells us that we will be mocked:

Luke 6:22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.

But is is a rare thing that I read such a well thought out introduction so you are off to a good start.

What is you favourite Bible(KJV1611) verse? I often find that that knowing this is a really good indicator of one's walk with Christ being in the right direction (towards Jesus).

My favourite is in my sig- I think you will approve.

I am a little concerned that your Sunday School teacher was a person of the female characteristics.

Welcome, Mr. Spoon. It is a pleasure to meet a man of Christian leanings such as yourself. I am somewhat concerned that you have taken your favorite verse from some kind of false bible. I fear you may have Unitarian tendencies. Only the King James Version offers the true and unadulterated word of Almighty God.

Thank you Dr. Niles for you warm welcome, and your compliments. I appreciate it. Per your suggestion, I have corrected my signature to reflect the King James Version of my favorite Bible verse.

Yes, my Sunday School teacher was a female, and though I know that wasn't the "ideal" situation, it still led me to Christ. My mom used to read the Bible to me when I was little, and she read from the NIV.

And yes, I do like your favorite verses and I am a firm believer in 1 Corinthians 11:3. That ties into my verse about setting an example, because if he is to be a good HOH, he needs to set a good example for his wife and family, and not shy away from his responsibilities to them, and certainly not his responsibilities to God.
1 Timothy 4:12 "Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."

            Hi Isabella,

Thank you for your very kind welcome. I'm glad that you mentioned that you don't "cherry-pick" certain parts of the Bible. A lot of churches nowadays do that, and it's appalling and flat out sinful. God didn't write the Bible and then say "I've created this manual for your life, but you can pick and choose which parts you want to follow, and what you think is relevant." The Bible is meant to make people joyful, and give us hope and peace, but it's also meant to make us uncomfortable, to challenge us, to make us look at ourselves, to make us question our thoughts and actions. The Bible and God's teachings have always been controversial, so why do churches believe that picking and choosing only certain parts to talk about is going to help them "fit in" with society? We are commanded to be in the world, but not of it, and to do that we need to set ourselves apart and not worry about fitting in.
1 Timothy 4:12 "Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."

Romans 12:9 "Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good."

              Hi Alvin,

Thank you for welcoming me here. I appreciate it. Rest assured, I am not a Unitarian; I have quit churches because it was clear they wanted to "fit in" rather than preach what the Bible actually says. At one church I was in years ago, the pastor started preaching from mainstream psychology books by authors that aren't even Christians themselves. I walked away from that particular church and never looked back. How can a congregation trust a pastor that doesn't even preach from the Bible? OUTRAGEOUS!!
1 Timothy 4:12 "Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."

The problem with this, is that some men fall short of the piety required. Your choice of the words "a good old fashioned spanking" indicates to me that you have lack the heavy heart that the best of us have when biblical correction to a wife and children needs to be enforced. I suspect that your motivation to deliver such punishment to a family that you do not yet have is impure.

As ever, you speak wise words Brother. I have noticed a tendency among unwed "men" (most of whom turn out to be mere boys) to raise the question of what they call Christian Domestic Discipline at the earliest opportunity. They might do better to seek out one of the more "specialist" websites to indulge their adolescent fantasies.

It is not the custom in my family to marry daughters to such men. Nor is it acceptable in my husband's family to marry women in need of regular, violent chastisement. My own boys would be embarrassed to be so weak as to fight girls!

Well said young man One of the responsibilities a man has is to be ever vigilant for risks to his family and the number one risk to the family today is homersexuality.

                    That's right: lesbians

I've lost count of the countless times a decent strong in Christ family has been broken up into more than one piece by the introduction of cultural lesbeanism, countless times. My own ex wife broke our family unit up when she decided to be attracted another of the female specifications. This was an absolute shock for me because in the Bible(KJV1611) it clearly states:

Romans 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature

You can clearly see the reason for my confusion as I had routinely read that verse to her at most opportunities. If I had seen the signs and understood lesbiopathy as I now do I could have be partially instrumental in saving her from damnation. Looking back now it seems obvious: short hair, riding a bicycle, dungarees, not locking the door when she used the bathroom- the list goes on.

Stand firm young man and don't marry and women who will subsequently choose to become gay.

                      Phil,

You said that you suspect my motivations "are impure." That's all it is; your suspicion. You don't know me, you don't know my heart, and you don't know my walk with the Lord. Yet you seem perfectly content to make assumptions about me; about someone you don't even know.

But really, it doesn't matter, because the only person that I'm concerned with pleasing is God. Period. End of story. I didn't come to this forum to fight with people, nor to make enemies. We Christians already have enough enemies in this world to fill Noah's ARK a million times over and more. Fighting among ourselves serves no purpose, and it just wastes precious time, energy, and makes Satan smile and laugh. I don't know about you, but I'd rather make Satan cry out in frustration that he can't get a rise out of us, rather than stoop to his level.

I came to this forum to interact with like-minded people. This site mentions CDD many times in its various forums and most people here seem to support it. CDD is Biblical, and I have used it with success in previous relationships. If you don't agree with it and/or choose not to practice, that's fine. That's your choice, and it's your right. All I ask is that you not judge people before you truly know them, and know their intent. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

                            Wise words, Sister Joanna.

You are probably right. I took the young man at his word that he had previous relationships. Naturally as a Christian I would take these as marital relationships. Therefore to have previous relationships and to be single he would have to be widowed.

I had not taken into account the possibility that his previous relationships were extramarital relationships. Which is not how Christians behave.

So if this young man is not a widower, then he has partaken in relationships unapproved by Jesus and has beaten up at least one, if not more, women that he is not married to. Shame. Keep your daughters well away from him.

My dear, sweet, and somewhat confused Woody, please understand that when Brother Phil makes a judgment, it is a righteous one:

John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

Now, our judgment of you may change if you give us a reason for it. If you are just into BDSM, this is a wrong place for you.
