If it can happen to a nice fellow like Dan Kirby Kopp, it could happen to us.

Dan has been convicted of paddling his wife for the egregious error of not calling him sir in front of the children. That is so disrespectful. The children might think its alright for them to not call their father sir.

A central Pennsylvania man was convicted for beating his wife when she didn't address him as "sir" in front of their kids.
Lancaster County prosecutors said 49-year-old Dan Kirby Kopp of Ephrata routinely beat his wife with a wooden paddle or his hand when he believed she was disrespectful.
The Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era said a jury convicted Kopp of misdemeanor stalking and harassment.
According to court documents, Kopp would take his wife over his knee and spank her in order to "teach her a lesson."

I wonder if this is the same Dan Kopp that used to teach a parenting class in Lancaster, PA. It taught the virtues of certain woods over others for paddles and switches - something any Christian father needs to know. At the end of the class, each father was given the chance to prove his place as head of household by bringing his child to perform five minutes of obedience exercises. I'm heartbroken about this.

You can tell your "god" that he is a false god.

The Only True God tells us that women need to subject to their husbands.

Ephesians 5:22-24
22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so [let] the wives [be] to their own husbands in every thing.

I think it would really help your argument to quote some of those times in the Bible where God or Jesus or anybody at all condemned corporal punishment of family members. The True Christians™ tend to believe what the Bible says over some internet rando, ya know?

Don't be so hasty. The men here are the best stock a the good people of this church probably have the only key towards Salvation and a healthy relationship with Christ, even if their approach to newcomers are seemingly harsh, being hazed by Landover is a humbling necessity as been the case with me so far.
