  • Rich People Live Longer

I've always believed we in Freehold know some things the rest of the country is ignorant about. One of those is how to live a long and healthy life.

It is self evident higher taxes hurt the rich. That is why we support Republicans from the local level up to President Trump. We believe rich people, free from government taxes and regulations, will help make America great again.

Let's take a couple of examples. Both President Trump and our beloved Pastor Zeke are wealthy. Notice this, they never age, keep active lives with ladies and search constantly for more profitable opportunities. While academic research is now catching up to this, we in Freehold have known since way back when that wealth and health go together.

Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

For Americans, the average wealth — not to be confused with income — was $29,000 for the poorest group, $180,000 for the middle group and $980,000 for the richest group, Dr. Zaninotto said.
I'd often noticed a bias in The New York Times. With loaded words, appeals to emotion, stereotypical ideology and a preference for liberal causes, how reliable is this organ?

I did notice "the richest group" had an asset base of $980K – very wary of that! Could a house even be purchased for so little? And we're talking about the richest home owners here which usually involves more than one establishment of, again, the highest standard. Sure, there may be a trillionaire living in a telephone kiosk somewhere but all those billionaires? A mere $980 thousand accumulated over the century?

It referred to "33 good years after 50" bringing us to 88. The old Queen mother managed 52 and her son-in-law seems to be nudging 100 having had even more expensive health-care than she did (which was unavailable when she was born) so I feel that there could be a missing demographic.

Can we estimate the wealth of the Patriarchs on this basis?

God promises prosperity and long life to those who honour their parents. We see the results of this in the real world: rich people outliving those who obviously failed to keep the Fifth Commandment.

Deut 5:16 Honour thy father and thy mother, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
sigpicMt 21:42, 44 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes . . . ? And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Landover Christian University has an interest in longevity. We all know how Adam lived to be 939, Noah lived to be 350 and many of the Patriarchs likewise reached a good age but, of late, this has dropped to 3 score and ten - plus or minus.

Adam had no money, but lived in Paradise. However, most of his time was spent expelled and he was cursed - this would have prevented him from making a pile. Noah must have had some cash to hand to start with as boat-building is next only to farming and writing poetry for losing money and, if you remember, he made no use of the Ark after it grounded on Mount Ararat, so it was a dead loss.

The question is "Do you live long because you have money, or does money itself prolong life?"

I rather like Matt 19:23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. 24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. Entry to the Kingdom of God is via death alone. This therefore suggests that rich people find it hard to die. This accounts for their longevity and it must be money that does it.

To this end, Landover Christian University would like to hear from people who are poor. We will then open a bank account for 50% with not less than $10 million in it and the other will have a similar sized debt in the account. They will have no access to the account nor will they know what type of account they have, but – and I must stress this - it will be “theirs”: they will thus be rich or poor. At the end of 5 years, we will see who has died/suffers from vile illnesses/disabilities and draw conclusions.

My mind is that, in accordance with the Word of Christ, the wealthy will survive longer as per Matt 19:24.

Those who wax rich through industry and effort have more duties here on Earth and it is only natural that the Lord usually allows them more time to finish His work on Earth before their rest. Those who become rich through vile deceit, theft and election to Congress are usually servants of the Devil and made to do his bidding long after they should have gone to their reward, which is eternity in the lake that burns with unquenchable fire.

That sounds like a most interesting experiment, Pastor Bathfire. In the interests of full scientific rigor, would it help to test the placebo effect by adding what I believe is called a "control group" made up of people who have no bank account opened for them, but do not know it?

Great observation, Pastor Bathfire. If people just read their Bible carefully they would understand it. Thankfully we have you to quote it here. Matt 19:23 states clearly that the rich make their own needle. Its size is up to each individual rich person. They can get into heaven more easily than the lazy poor. Since they live longer they have more time to figure out their path to the divine.

                Re: Rich People Live Longer

The idea of a Patriarch themed blind banking portfolio sits very well with Adam's circumstances. Land ownership is clearly a part of God's plan and part of the security held by responsible banks. Adam's portion would have been 100% of 11½ million sq. miles – which would be unimproved land for most of his life. Prior to the fall, real estate was in perfect condition and didn't need improving but that didn't persist once plants began sprouting thorns, rainfall became erratic and pestilential effects were established. That must have been almost immediate because otherwise Adam could simply have moved somewhere the plants had not changed or where animals didn't want to eat him or where no poisons existed.

As the Patriarchs dealt with all that they did live longer, from Adam at 930 to Methuselah at 969, an increase of 39 years. Once the land problem was addressed. Sin has increased a lot now and lives are much less but a 39 year difference (from 69 to 108, say) would still be noticeable. Even a difference of 5% would be significant.
