I love a good debate. We almost had one for a couple of exchanges, but then, just when you needed a distraction, your friend decided to post lyrics from some tween pop group.

So let's get back to where we left off, shall we?

I also want to find out what makes democrats "tick" (Get it? Because ticks are parasites?)

    Let's debate:

    1. Whether a conspiracy you call "The Patriarchy" exists.

    2. Whether it's headquarters is in America, rather than say, Somalia

    3. Whether any females other than yuppie grifters benefit from the anti-boy hate-group that is western feminism.

    4. Whether "equality" means doing the hard work of making things better for women, or doing the easy work of making things even worse for the demographic that already suffers more child abuse, workplace deaths, murder, homelessness, imprisonment, conscription, suicide, and untimely death in general.

    5. Whether the son of a crippled janitor is privileged compared to the relatively oppressed daughter or ex-wife of a billionaire.

That should be enough to start.

If you find yourself short of evidence and coincidentally your friend shows up again, please tell your friend to just post links to the music on youtube. I'd rather hurt my ears than my eyes, thank you.

I want a debate on who invented Disco. I just saw a documentary from the BBC (aka the Big Black Crock) which credited gay blacks. I say disco is just the rhythm of Turkish-derived western military marches plus the string section from Electric Light Orchestra. And of course western chemistry, via Columbian agricultural expertise.

The best thing about this debate is that we won't have to listen to any My Chemical Romance, which if the name is accurate must be nothing but sappy ballads.

      Alright! Let's discuss.

1 and 2: The patriarchy isn't an organization- America is still clinging onto its old habits of being a Patriarchal society. Male-led. The magnitude of straight white men in power push standards that are harmful to both men and women. Traditionally- boys are taught to bottle their emotions up and be tough- that crying is a sign of weakness. That leads to depression, mood swings, and feeling like you don't belong. For women- it's also limiting. They preach about how "women belong in the kitchen" or how "a woman's purpose is to serve her husband". It directly invalidates our thoughts, feelings, and aspirations. The patriarchy doesn't have a headquarters- it's just a term to describe the men in power, and how it effects the people it rules over.

3 and 4: Western feminism isn't anti-men. It's a social movement promoting equality. Equal pay, equal opportunities, equal rights, etc. It's to empower women and get more women into the work force. And your argument on how men get abused as children more often than women is a direct effect on the hyper-masculine standards that have been passed on through generations. Some people aren't meant to be butch- and that's ok.

5: The janitor's son would have an easier time in life- he probably wouldn't get harassed on the street- he could take night walks without the fear of rape. The woman in this situation has more privilege- which is the result of capitalism (which is a can of worms I'm not about to open).

and if you would like to listen to My Chemical Romance (which I highly recommend if you like 90's or classic rock)- here's a playlist of all their songs in order. Most of their albums are concept records, and they're truly beautiful. There's a lot of meaning within the lyrics. The song "Skylines and Turnstiles" was written after Gerard Way [the bands lead singer] witnessed the attacks of 9/11. It was MCR's first song.

(and no, they are not sappy ballads- they are pop-punk music. The name comes from an Irvine Welsh novel called Three Tales of Chemical Romance. Mikey Way- the bands bassist was working at a Barnes and Noble, and he thought it would be a good name for a band).

Also the members of My Chemical Romance are in their late 30s/early 40s now.

That's a lot more sensible than a female led patriarchy.

Traditionally- boys are taught to bottle their emotions up and be tough- that crying is a sign of weakness. That leads to depression, mood swings, and feeling like you don't belong.
Seriously, do you want men crying all the time? Nobody likes a sissy.

They preach about how "women belong in the kitchen" or how "a woman's purpose is to serve her husband". It directly invalidates our thoughts, feelings, and aspirations.
So what exactly is the problem? I'm just not seeing it.

Not having a home-cooked meal waiting when a man gets home from a hard day's work--now that WILL lead to depression, mood swings, and feeling like you don't belong.

Some people aren't meant to be butch- and that's ok.
There's a name for people who aren't meant to be butch--females.

if you would like to listen to My Chemical Romance
Tempting as that sounds, I have a penis splitting appointment, and I'd rather do that.

and no, they are not sappy ballads
Good. That means they aren't producing crap like this sappy ballad:

That sounds like Hall and Oates singing a Neil Sedaka song. Badly.

Dude, just try and listen to them, they're great people. Listen to the Black Parade album. I have it on vinyl. ITS AMAZING.

            also- bruh.
a "female led patriarchy" would be a matriarchy.
If there's not a home cooked meal on the table, the man can get his ass up and put some ramen on the stove. it takes five minutes. "He should stop being a sissy" and do things himself.
Also, me and a lot more girls like men who show emotions. The toxic masculinity trend has long since died.

Cancer is a lull in the album. It highlights a man who is dying of cancer- dubbed "the patient". His time has come, but he wants to keep fighting. It's not a love song. Listen to The Black Parade album IN ORDER to get the full story. Listen- don't just hear. Think about the lyrics. How do they tie into the story?

Patriarchal power structures are founded and confirmed in the Bible.

The God whose offspring you claim to be is introduced and illuminated and explained and just generally the major protagonist of the Bible.

Therefore, as a child of God, you must support or submit--depending on your God-given gender--the Patriarchy.

Praise Jesus! (Who was male, of course.)

How would you explain that to an atheistic woman like myself? I don't believe in an afterlife, or big sky dude. And I signed up for a one on one with Jeb Stuart. I'm giving you my POV. I respect yours, as long as you're not telling other women to give up on their dreams. I never wanted to be successful. I work at Hot Topic, and it's amazing. I'm in a band! I have a girlfriend! Those are my dreams. If your dream is to be a homebody, that's your choice. Just don't tell me I'll be punished for pursuing my dreams.

What a boring retreat you've made - you started with bold terms like "The Patriarchy" yet now you're only saying we should elect more women and tease crybabies a bit less.

The LORD is far more consistent, contradicting both of your positions. Except for the one about teasing, and that only applies to teasing bald guys. (2 Kings 2:23-25)

Cans of worms are fun, especially the ones invented and made in capitalist systems. Has North Korea ever produced THIS?

Also invented and produced in a capitalist economy, with such efficiency that their product is given away free to anyone who can access Youtube (ie anyone outside of North Korea or Cuba).

Let me guess - you're going to pull another double-definition switch-er-roo and say that "anti-capitalist" just means you want to tinker with tax rates a bit, decommission an aircraft carrier or two, and spend a bit more on the welfare state, right?

North Korea is a Fascist Dictatorship. I am an Anarcho-Communist. Sharing is caring Men have feelings. It's not healthy to keep emotions bottled up. It just leads to violent outbursts. It's not just teasing. It's conversion therapy, it's beating your child for being "soft", and it all leads back to the bible, which was written by- you guessed it! A whole [dung] ton of men! My Chemical Romance is vocally anti-capitalist. The whole concept of Their fourth studio album, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys- is anarchists bringing down a totalitarian right government. Also- give me proof there is a higher power (other than the bible). See if you can sway my opinion.

I've listened to this song about 20 times now. I'd rather get real cancer than make that 21.

Where the heck do you get "fascist" for North Korea? They are maybe the last existing communist state (Cuba doesn't really count because it survives on subsidies sent by relatives living abroad, and China went full capitalism a good while ago). Communist monarchy, that's what I call it.

                          I am an Anarcho-Communist.
That sounds interesting on paper - but show me just *one* society of present or past that is or has been successful at it for a reasonable amount of time. (Reasonable time meaning multiple generations of humans born in the system and willing to continue to live in it without being forced to do so).

                          Sharing is caring
That's great when 100% of the society follows the rules... but then again, in every society you have some people who don't. Which is why you need police, army, and some sort of a centralized state to control it all. Which means the anarchist part goes out of the window.

My Chemical Romance is vocally anti-capitalist.
What do they do with the money they gain from albums, songs, concerts, merchandise etc? If they keep any for themselves rather than redistribute it among the needy, then they are not anti-capitalist. Thinking about it, they would not charge at all for their music and concerts if they were completely anti-capitalist. (EDIT: I see Brother WWJDNow beat me to it).

Now, if they don't want to sound as complete hypocrites, they should say they are in favor of a heavily regulated capitalism - you know, capitalism with just wages, health insurance, protections for the environment, etc.

Pure communism has been tried and failed. We can incorporate elements of communism within a capitalist system - think Social Security and Medicare - but as a system on its own it doesn't work because it kills all private enterprise and ingenuity.

AntiFa protest? I'm telling you to listen to the album. Its about death. Gerard believes that death comes to you as your fondest memory. For the patient- it's seeing a parade with his dad. You should watch a couple interviews with the band. It's a genius album- there are no bad songs on it. The concept is easy to understand- and if you cant get it from listening to the album? That's on you, bud.
