Re: Was Jesus Swarthy? (Emo-rama 2020 Debate, round four)

Bad art can be just as thought-provoking to me as good art. I learned to look at capitalism anew from watching Battleship.

I'm listening to the last one, the live album.

Listen to "Helena" and "Desert song". You'll see what I mean. "Danger Days" doesn't have much emotional significance- it's meant to take the place of a comic book. The storyline in DD expands in Gerard's comic, "True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys: California". They have it in most libraries. I highly reccomend it. It's an amazing book.

          I listened to Cancer.

          It held no surprises.

good pun. very haha. did laugh. You have to listen to the full Black Parade album. It has a storyline, and "Cancer" adds to it. It's around 10 PM where I am- I'm just gonna sleep for the night, I don't have the energy to explain it again- so here's an interview of them explaining it.

ok so idk how that was considered to be p0rn- it was just an interview with the band. so here it is again- there isn't anything terrible in it- it's just them talking about the album.

I have to admit, I'm very curious about emochildish. What triggers his Rebekkah personality to come out, and under what circumstances is he Kaylee? Is there a third personality in there? If so, who is it? Are they demons, or is he just a run of the mill lunatic? Why does he rely on song lyrics to guide his pathetc life instead of thinking for himself as we do? Did this all happen because his parents didn't beat him?

He is a lost soul, and I am praying for him.

I don't know why you refuse to believe me, but if you're having so much trouble believing I am one- then I'm concerned for you. Trust issues with a parental figure? Maybe. That's my theory.

For someone whom you described as "vocally anti-capitalist," this person seems to know a lot about how to promote his own work by cross-referencing it across different media. (Personally, I wouldn't call a comic a "book," but that's my personal taste. If I longed to see a printed page that has more images than text, I'd prefer to study an IKEA assembly instruction booklet than to look at a comic.). Of course, I do realize that being "vocally anti-something" does not imply practicing what ones preach. I do hope that you can understand it, too.

Anyway. As Brother Jeb and Sister Sally are bravely taking one for the team (and they both have my deep admiration for listening to that garbage you call music), I assume you should start to behave like a civilized human being and actually respond to arguments presented?

For your convenience, here are just two of my posts that you have forgot to respond to:

Where the heck do you get "fascist" for North Korea? They are maybe the last existing communist state (Cuba doesn't really count because it survives on subsidies sent by relatives living abroad, and China went full capitalism a good while ago). Communist monarchy, that's what I call it.
                    I am an Anarcho-Communist.
That sounds interesting on paper - but show me just *one* society of present or past that is or has been successful at it for a reasonable amount of time. (Reasonable time meaning multiple generations of humans born in the system and willing to continue to live in it without being forced to do so).
                    Sharing is caring
That's great when 100% of the society follows the rules... but then again, in every society you have some people who don't. Which is why you need police, army, and some sort of a centralized state to control it all. Which means the anarchist part goes out of the window.
My Chemical Romance is vocally anti-capitalist.
What do they do with the money they gain from albums, songs, concerts, merchandise etc? If they keep any for themselves rather than redistribute it among the needy, then they are not anti-capitalist. Thinking about it, they would not charge at all for their music and concerts if they were completely anti-capitalist. (EDIT: I see Brother WWJDNow beat me to it).

Now, if they don't want to sound as complete hypocrites, they should say they are in favor of a heavily regulated capitalism - you know, capitalism with just wages, health insurance, protections for the environment, etc.

Pure communism has been tried and failed. We can incorporate elements of communism within a capitalist system - think Social Security and Medicare - but as a system on its own it doesn't work because it kills all private enterprise and ingenuity.

DISCLAIMER: The science below is given solely as a thought experiment

According to scientists, there was a time, called the Cretaceous, when there were no ice caps - even the Antarctic had a temperate climate (see graphic below, and if you can read science [which I doubt, "reading comics" is not a good predictor of being able to read science] here's an article). There were shallow seas where now are plains, and the equatorial area was probably too hot to live. And you know what? There were millions of species of plants and animals that thrived on that "hot house" planet. They went extinct when an asteroid hit the planet, thus obscuring the skies and cooling the planet. Well, they didn't really go completely extinct, we eat their descendants' eggs scrambled for breakfast these days.

Well I think that as a species, on average, we are smarter than dinosaurs. (People like you don't really help to increase that average, though). If the dinosaurs were able to thrive on a super hot planet, why wouldn't we?

God created fossils to test our faith.

Brother Dnow is trying to help. Neither he nor the rest of us True Christians™ can really help you until we figure what is wrong with you. Here you are admitting you are headed for an eternity in hell and refuse to acknowledge it. No rational person would make that choice.

So, in order to help we need to figure out why you would be so foolish. Once we know that we can began the process of saving your soul. As Brother Dnow reasons, you are attracted to a woman. According to the Bible that can only happen if you are a man. That is, unless you choose to commit an abomination, which no rational person would do.

I can tell you fear we are giving up on you without first saving you from hell. Stop worrying, we're not giving up. We're just trying to help.

I don't choose my sexuality. I was born this way. I've told you- I don't believe in the concept of heaven or hell. I'm not afraid of you giving up on me, I don't need your help. I'm not straight, and I'm not gay. If the bible is true, then I'm already going to Hell because of m4sturbation and pre-marital sex (even with men).

Well, if you don't need our help, did you come here solely to throw your sin in our faces?

Of course, most of your behavior is a desperate cry for help whether you admit that or not.

Seriously, there has GOT to be a reason why you are here. And trust me, what with reading the Bible and all, we have had a lot of sin thrown in our faces, so you really aren't providing that much shock value.

And this whole, "I'm not straight, and I'm not gay", thing seems like someone who can't get a firm footing on any surface whatsoever. And why Landover Baptist? Did you come here with the idea of a Hero's Quest to change our thinking? Because you haven't read widely enough of our posts or deeply enough of the Bible to know what we think.

Either you are here on a proselytizing mission to win us over to your emogod or you secretly crave the authoritarian clarity of the Bible lifestyle. Which is it? Hmm?

Why couldn't they have made more songs like this on Christian themes?
