Why do atheists SEEM to win so many arguments?

Have you ever felt rising panic when debating an atheist? Have you ever thought, “Wow, what he’s saying really makes sense”? There’s a reason for this. Many atheists have been taught how to construct a valid argument. But a valid argument is not always a sound argument.

An argument consists of at least two premises and a conclusion, for example:
God hates sinners; therefore Jesus hates sinners.

    God hates sinners (premise)
    Jesus is God (implied premise)
    Jesus hates sinners (conclusion)

The premises and conclusion must be declarative sentences that can either be asserted (said to be true) or denied (said to be false). A valid argument is one in which the conclusion is true if the premises are true. In other words, a valid argument can be constructed on false premises, which is what atheists have been doing, for example:
There is no evidence that a global flood ever occurred.
If a global flood occurred, we would expect to see evidence of it.
    Therefore Noah’s Flood never happened.

This is a valid argument, but it is unsound. We Christians deny the premises. There is evidence of Noah’s Flood. Moses wrote about it 1,000 years after the event. So we might construct the following valid argument to rebut the atheist:
The Bible says there was a global flood (Genesis 7:1-8:22).
The Bible is God’s Word (2 Tim 3:16).
God’s Word is true (Jn 17:17).
    Therefore Noah’s Flood happened.

The premises are true; the conclusion is true. Checkmate, atheist! Now let’s look at how the atheist might argue against the existence of God.
There is no evidence that a god exists.
If there was evidence for the existence of a god, I would know about it.
If a god existed, we would expect to see evidence
    Therefore no god exists.

The second premise in this argument is invalid, as it is a logical fallacy. The other premises can be denied. Here is how the Christian might respond:
The Bible says creation is sufficient evidence of God’s existence (Rom 1:18-20).
The Bible is true (Jn 17:17).
    Therefore God exists.

Jesus wins again! If the omniscient (1 Jn 3:20), omnipotent (Rev 19:6), omnipresent (Ps 139:7-12) God of the Bible existed and was still active in the world (Heb 1:3), of course there would be evidence! But I bet I know exactly how the atheist would feebly respond to our argument.
God doesn’t exist; therefore there can’t be any evidence of His existence.

This is circular reasoning, an invalid, fallacious argument. We’ve got the atheist on the ropes.

The most important thing to take away from all this is that anyone can construct a valid argument. It doesn’t mean they’re right. It’s also possible to draw the right conclusion from false premises (see also non sequitur; fallacist’s fallacy). We Christians have been doing it for millennia.

I've heard atheists say putting things in your bottom is fun all the time. I guess doing coke or injecting marijuana is fun. And listening to rock music. And fornicating. And going to see horror movies. And playing video games.

But where is Jesus in any of those things? Exactly! And this is what you can't grasp because you don't know the joy of accepting Jesus deep within you, bursting forth.

It's not too late to avoid your fate.

Re: Why do atheists SEEM to win so many arguments?

I'm going to reveal some information about the um, well, visions I've had. For those of you who've wondered why I call myself an unknown prophet, well, it's because I have visions. My latest one went something like this:

Invisible, standing alone by myself in an ordinary looking field, I see these people, dressed in fancy clothes and wearing calculating, analytical expressions on their faces. They are watching over the field, from a high cliff, almost as if they're spying on the field or something. All of a sudden, one of the persons sprinkles a small amount of dust onto the field that proliferates into a very large cloud. The field becomes ruined, and as some ordinary townspeople come outside from a nearby village, they notice what is happening. The field is very important to them, and they become incredibly angry when they see what's going on. At this point, the people on the cliff leave the scene, but one of them actually goes down to the field, sticks out his tongue, goes "nyah-nyah" and then runs away. The village people immediately begin chasing this one cliff-person, but it seems as if this one cliff-person is trying to serve as a distraction; and the village people seem to have forgotten about the other well-dressed people who have vanished quietly into the distance. But wait! There are some village people from a new village that I didn't notice earlier that actually do seem to be going after ALL of the well-dressed cliff people rather than just the one. But these village people seem to actually not get along with the first village people I saw. Why aren't both villages working together, I wonder to myself? It is around that time that all of a sudden, a voice cries out to me that the vision I encountered is not complete, and that the vision is actually coming from within me, and not from an outside source. I don't know, maybe the vision is simply a delusion, or maybe I'm crazy. Perhaps some of the members of this forum could help me interpret this vision? I'm feeling some mixed emotions, and it's mostly because I don't know whether I'm possessed by an evil spirit, or whether I actually am having righteous visions. I'm a little scared, and I don't want to delve any further into the paranoia and pessimism that I'm feeling due to Obama's stolen re-election. Please fellow baptists, I need your help and your prayers in this time of need.
1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

This is a very powerful prayer against witchcraft. This prayer can shut down witches and satanists forever. Being that this prayer basically shuts down the senders of the hexes and vexes by returning their evil to them sevenfold. I now hurl it at you in Christ's name!

          Father,
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I plead the precious uncorruptable blood of Jesus over myself and my church and everything that belongs to us. I ask for giant warrior Angels to be loosed from Heaven to surround and protect us. As your war club and weapons of war I break down, undamn, and blow up all walls of protection around all witches, warlocks, wizards, satanists, and the like, and I break the power of all curses, hexes, vexes, spells, charms, fetishes, physic prayers, physic thought, all witchcraft, sorcery, magic, voodoo, all mind control, jinxes, potions, bewitchments, death, destruction, sickness, pain, torment, physic power, physic warfare, prayer chains, and everything else being sent my way or my family members way, and I return it and the demons to the senders right now!, SEVENFOLD, and I BIND it to them by the Blood of Jesus!

Father, I pray that these lost souls will find the light of your son Jesus.. Their own snares and traps have been set against themselves.. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth I now loose them from all mindcontrol of satan!.. Father I also ask that you Bind the Holy Spirit to there hearts as a guide to your son Jesus.. So they may be set free from the bondages of satan.

          In Jesus name I pray..
          Amen

The looming threat of rape in every conversation is what makes atheists so intimidating to argue against. It isn't fair to Christians that we must live in fear for our rectums and give atheists a free pass when their every utterance is a lie. Rape is a serious crime, especially when it is atheistic, which is to say in the butt.

                  In reality, atheists never win.

Atheists live a deluded life, having convinced themselves of there being nothing after death, which is simply not possible. Even mooslimes and hondos know better!

How can be going to Hell be considered a prize for 'winning'?

Victory belongs to Jesus. Not some damned atheist joo.

If atheists would stop sodomizing each other long enough to formulate a single thought, they would realize that Christ is the only begotten Son of the Most High.

Thank you, brother, for bringing this up. Hopefully some of the unsaved trash who paralyze our boards with their hackneyed drivel will read this and repent of their sodomies.

This yet another vision I had a while ago that I'm going to reveal now. In the vision, I see the well-dressed, rich, "cliff people." They're talking amongst themselves, when all of a sudden, one of their man-servants (I think he's a servant) comes running out of nowhere and starts holding up a sign. I can't quite make out the words written on the sign, but the man holding up the sign reminds me of those homeless guys you see all the time warning about the end of the world, in terms of his demeanor and the way he's going about carrying the sign. One of the cliff-men gets angry, and shoots the sign-holder and kills him! The dead body disappears after a few seconds, and the cliff-people go back to minding their own business. All of a sudden, a new manservant appears, but unlike the first manservant, this second man is talking with the cliff-people, and it seems as if he's trying to................................................ ..........................................Aaarghh! Darn it, I forgot to take my memory pill today! Oh well, I guess I'll just have to try to remember the rest of the vision tomorrow. Stay tuned.

Ok, for the rest of the vision, this second manservant is having a conversation with the cliff-people. He's holding out his arms, as if he's trying to ask the cliff-people a favor or something. There's a pause in the conversation........all of a sudden, the cliff-people burst into tears because they're laughing incredibly hard at whatever the second manservant requested. The second manservant looks a little peeved, and he walks away, kicking at a pebble in frustration.

The vision actually fast-forwards a bit into the future. I see the second manservant by himself, and his demeanor has changed quite dramatically since the last time I saw him. Instead of looking peeved, he looks, well, relieved. I see the second man-servant start to walk along the pathway he's on. He looks behind him, and sees one of the cliff-men giving him a nasty look from a distance that's far back. The second man-servant gets a little nervous, and he holds up his hands, as if to say "my mistake, I won't do it again." The cliff-man nods in approval to the manservant's guesture, and tells him to go away by motioning with his hands.

An atheist is like a seller who offers really inferior and useless things. He knows that usually nobody will buy his products, but he HAS to sell his stuff to pay his bills. So he learns to argue and to convince The cheat HAS to be clever.

A Christian on the other hand can be compared to an honest merchant. He does not learn how to cheat because he knows his products are worth every penny he's requesting and God will guide buyers into his store

Yes, the atheist cheats seem to win many arguments. They have learned how to SELL their stuff. But if you check their goods thoroughly, you'll find nothing but rotten and smelly scrap
