To all Freehold women who read this:
The time has come! As you perhaps have heard, the "true christian" establishment, of which your husband is likely to be a member, is currently in shock because of something they clearly had not anticipated:
Our man is leading with 63% in the polls!
JJ Hold, the big man of the church, only scores a meager 38% of the votes.
This means that according to these polls, BIG changes is going to happen in Freehold from next week on!
As mr. King already said during his speech, it is unacceptable how women are looked upon in Freehold. Form the day we were born, we have been taught that we are inferior to man, born to serve man as long as we live, born to become a fitting piece of furniture in the True Christian household.
We have spoken: "Enough!"
No longer we will be oppressed! We are worthy human beings, not less than our male counterparts. With mr. King as mayor, no woman will be suppressed anymore, or violently forced into obedience, or abused as a bedroom toy by her husband, or condemned as a "demon daughter of Eve." We will be Free Women!
This is why I'm proud to announce that the Free Women of Freehold are actively going to help women cast their vote on the 17th of March!
As you know, there might be several difficulties. Many of you already told your husband that you prefer mr. King over Hold. They feel uneasy, but they are not going to let you do that, if you give them the chance to keep you from voting. Look here what you can expect from them!
So, if you haven't told your husband that you will vote for King, don't tell him! Pretend that you support Hold, and try to get to the voting office with him. He will not be able to see who you give your vote, as mr. King has assured that officials of the State of Iowa will supervise the voting process.
Of course, whether they will suspect you or not, many of your husbands will try to make you stay at home, and have you authorize them to vote in your place. Here lies the greatest danger. If they try that, do whatever you can to change his mind. Many of you told me that you never before contradicted your husband, so the shock of you doing so might confuse him so much he actually grants you your request.
If you ultimately fail to change his mind, and you do not want to flatly disobey him, contact one of us. Mrs. Johnson is the chairlady of our organization, and she will try to arrange an excuse for you to allow you to leave/be sneaked out of your home, so that you can vote without your husband's knowledge. We then also will do whatever we can to prevent him from voting in your place.
On an additional note, as this apparently was not clear to all of you during the barbecue, do not, under any circumstances, discuss any of these matters with the Ladies of Landover! They are on the hand of the Pastors and Hold, and serve as a vehicle to keep Christian women obedient, as they always have. Many of them belong to the inner circle of Hold's confidants, and have full knowledge of the dirty secrets of his campaign. They cannot be trusted. Stay away from them.
As many of you already expressed the desire to discuss this further, tomorrow morning and tomorrow evening you can come visit Mrs. Johnson (I likely will be there as well). Many of you visit her house daily, and it is close to the shopping center, so this isn't going to look too suspicious. Additionally, we can discuss these matters at Beaux' barbecue coming Saturday, at the Freehold Community Player's Theatre.
A final note: many of you will watch this and feel encouraged to reply. But if your husband doesn't realize where your loyalties lie, you'd better not give yourself away by posting in this thread, especially not under the account of your husband. This might seem redundant, but I have spoken several of you who considered this. So just don't do that.
Well, the only thing left to say is that I'm thrilled. I really believe that we are going to change this place, and turn it into an oasis of enlightenment!
Rise up, and let your voice be heard on the 17th! Rise from the kitchens and the living rooms! Stop cleaning the house, and start cleaning Freehold! We don't take this anymore! Free Women of Freehold for freedom and justice!
