    Happy Epiphany

    Greetings American citizen.

I know that, since you are mostly protestants, you celebrate only Easter and Christmas. However i wanted to say to you "Happy Epiphany" because we celebrate it.

For those who don't know, Epiphany celebrates the visit of the Magi to our lord and saviour Jesus Christ.

In Italy an old lady called Befana, who missed the opportunity to bring a gift to Baby Jesus, has chosed to deliver candies to little children.

What do you think? Isn't it a beautiful holyday?

Self, self, self... That's all I ever hear from Catlix!

We don't know when the Magi came to Nazareth, do we? It seems a bit stupid celebrating one particular day that is no more than a guess. Anyway, these Magi "came from the East" - so they were probably Jihadists and could have killed Jesus!
to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
I always think that proper capitalization shows respect, don't you?

    What a quaint pagan custom...

    What do you think?
I think that the Befana woman can't be Italian because she doesn't have a mustache.

has chosed to deliver candies to little children.
... and wait... don't tell me... the pope just happens to sell candles at a very reasonable price...

Look, Romeo, I know we have all got to make a living, but could you at least put some effort into it?

Yes. To be burnt at the altar in his church, so after visiting hours he scraps the wax and forms it into new candles to be sold again.

It really is a great business model, profits are huge.

It's never too late to celebrate Epiphany, Americans. I think we can send a Befana to the United States too.

Is that she? Looks like you married the wrong one.

Now in the new age, perhaps your progeny having beaks will be no impediment. God does not mention beaks after all. And I don't come empty handed: there is a precedent, as it happens, in England.

There is always a deal for the priests in these Catholic "celebrations." It's like "Bring a gift for Jesus like the Magi did. Leave it with us priests and we'll pass it along. By the way, Baby Jesus likes good wine." When those in the pews figured that one out, priests changed it to "Bring a gift for the children. We're going to call it Epiphany. Leave the gifts with us and we'll pass them along. Children love good wine."

Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

What I wonder is who thinks up the dumb names? Epiphany, is it even a real word? And there's so many of them!
