Hellbound God-mockers keep demanding evidence (as though the Holy King James Bible weren't enough) that the fall of man happened as described in Genesis. They need look no farther than their gardens, since plants confirm that it happened.
After God created man, He said what He had given us to eat:
Genesis 1:29 KJV: 29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which [is] upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which [is] the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
That is, God provided us with all seed-bearing, land-growing plants and all fruit trees for food. (You hipsters who eat ferns and seaweed might want to think about that.) Now, however, we know that many such plants are poisonous, including the one that was used to execute the ancient Greek sodomite Socrates.
To reconcile these two things, we need to read just two chapters later, in the account of the fall of man:
Genesis 3:17-18 KJV: 17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed [is] the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat [of] it all the days of thy life; 18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
In other words, because of Adam and Eve's sin, God cursed even the ground and many of the plants growing out of it, and this is why many plants are poisonous. This may seem a little extreme by the world's standards, but God is just:
Isaiah 45:21 KJV: 21 Tell ye, and bring [them] near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? [who] hath told it from that time? [have] not I the LORD? and [there is] no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; [there is] none beside me.
The New Testament confirms this. Before Adam's sin, there was no death in the world:
Romans 5:12 KJV: 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
No death clearly includes no death by poisonous plants. Plants confirm the Bible, which confirms itself. Praise!
