Re: How do I beat an atheist in argument.
What can we do for ourselves? God has already given us everything we need.
Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.
Phil 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
You seem to be mocking the whole "pie in the sky when you die" idea. But the Christian's life would be meaningless without an afterlife.
1 Cor 15:17-19 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
Life is utterly meaningless for the unbeliever.
Eccl 1:2 Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.
But for Christians life has purpose; our work is not in vain.
1 Cor 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
Yet you want us to forsake God and pursue ... what? I think I know where your fear is coming from.
Heb 2:14-15 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness.
You know the truth, that God is real, yet you deny it because you cannot save yourself. You know you are going to die; you are afraid and so you are enslaved to a sinful lifestyle.
1 Cor 15:32 Let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die.
You haven't quoted any higher authority in your arguments. You haven't even resorted to quoting from science or secular philosophy, like so many of your kind do. On what do you base your lack of faith? Why don't you believe in God?
Is 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
