Ok, it went from one rock pool to another holding it's breath. That is as impressive as me swimming underwater for a length of the pool. I could do that a million times, I would not grow gills just as the octopus would not grow lungs.

All you asked was to see an octopus walking on land. and it does have survival purposes. They are able to escape predators who are not able to go on land, they can also find fish trapped in tidal pools for food. So naturally the ones who are better at this are the ones who survive and pass on their genes. Therefore with each generation octopuses get better and better at surviving on land

You are not going to see it RP. If all it needs is legs to climb out of the sea then why haven't I seen an octopus walking along the beach? I know why, it's because they it would die immediately. Just like what would happen if a fish grew legs.

Ok, so a fish though 'mutation' grows a bit of a lung and then climbs on to the beach. What happens next? IT DIES! So it's genes are not passed on.

It needs fully working lungs to survive. How can this happen with the slow process of evolution if all it's predecessors are dead on the beach?? The survivors are all happily in the water with their gills.

Ever hear of dolphins or whales? They are mammals and have working lungs.

Besides, it wasn't like a fish turned into a human in one step anyway. Fish simply evolved into reptiles (dinosaurs), they in that time small mammals were formed and survived mass extinction only to evolve into a mammal dominant world we know today. I know your going to eat this one alive, but dispite what you may think, there is proof of dinosaurs and their death coinciding with an asteroid impact.

And a fat lot of good those lungs do them on land. They're always getting stranded and dying.

It is just an example of how an animal can have lungs in the water. Frogs, salemanders, water snakes and turtles are some more examples; would you like to refute their ability to walk on land and breathe without any problem. By the way aquatic salemanders are considered to be amphibious fish (fish with legs)

So I realize that I am getting nowhere with such a closed minded group of individuals. This forum states that all science is "evil". It pains me to have knowledge that people think this way, given how far humanity has come.

I would like to leave you with this.

As a engineer, I am an applied scientist; meaning that I take science and math in order to create new things and fix any problems of existing things. This means if you think science is evil then...

1) stop writing on this forum because by doing so you harness the computer science involved in creating the computer.

2) disconnect your power that runs your computer and your home, because electrical scientist help provide you with alternating current electricity from electromagnetism.

3) get out of your house, because your house is a derivative of collective sciences in order for you to stay warm and dry, not to mention the structural integrity of the house itself.

4) walk away, you car is all science

5) strip off all your clothes, because mist clothes is manufactured now using technology and therefor science (even looms have science to it)

6) feed off the land and enjoy cold food, fire is science, unless you find it naturally like in a forest fire, but that would be too dangerous.

So good luck living amongst the land nakid eating cold food because that is the only way you can avoid technology and science.

SO I am a christian. I'm 20 years old and I grew up in a christian home. I have served God all my life. When I was 12 years old my family moved to Honduras to be missionaries to the lost people there. Now I have several problems with what I've read so far. God is love. Do you agree with this? If so then how can you say God hates this... or God hates that... In fact I'm pretty sure there is only one place in the bible where It says that God hates anything. So please tell me how can he hate all these people that yall claim he hates? Goths? homosexuals? "retards" as you call them. Let me ask you people something. do you hate all these people as well?
