I'm not trying to bash anyone here about anything,I'm neither a Darwinist nor a baptist Christian, I just want to know some simple questions.

1. If the earth is flat at what point does it start and end?

2. What about flight attendants who have "circled" the world literally?

3. Is it possible to fall of our flat earth?

I'm all for first amendment rights and I think its great you guys have a place to voice your opinions, but I think being open minded about things is important and would like both sides to really look at the other's evidence and form a rebuttle instead of just showing more evidence for their side.

Why do you ask questions that have been answered at least a dozen times here already? All three of those questions have been answered on this message board. Perhaps your local community has courses at the library or vocational schools on how to use Search Engines. I don't know if you noticed or not but we have a search engine at Landover Baptist Church too. Have you read all the threads directed towards noobies? They provide all kinds of information to answer your dumb questions and are required reading (that is a technical term you will learn in high school if you ever get there).

Yes I did read them and I am still left wandering all of those questions.

I specifically looked at the thread "Scientific Proof the earth is flat!"
It mentions the word scientific, but I see no science, although it does have quotes from the good bible of King James to back it up.

The photographs he says are real are what throw off his entire argument. The pictures are obviously photo-shopped and in fact one is from an advertisement for a travel company.

And as for learning about search engines, I'm currently going for my Master's degree in political science at Duquesne University, a Christian school. I think I can manage finding a search box, this site just lacked my answers. I don't understand why you have to hurl insults when I'm just trying to have my questions answered? Has anyone here been to the end of the earth? do you have pictures?

We know the Earth is flat because the Bible tells us so. But for those of you skeptical, close-minded types that flat out refuse to accept the overwhelming Biblical evidence, I have designed some experiments you can do at home that will show you, before your very eyes, that the world is indeed flat, and not spherical as some crazy scientists proclaim. It's amazing how many people blindly believe in a spherical Earth, without ever having seen it for themselves! I intend to change that.


1) Jump!
Now, scientists claim that Earth is spherical and rotating at a speed of between 700-1000 miles per hour, depending on your latitude. This is a very high rate of speed. You can disprove this nonsense by simply jumping up as high as you can. Really, it's that simple. What happens when you jump? You come straight down to where you were. But, if the Earth were indeed spinning at such a fast speed, wouldn't you land hundreds of feet away?

If you were to stand in the flat bed of a truck going 75 mph, and jump straight up, what would happen? You wouldn't fall straight down. You would fall out of the truck. That's because trucks move, the Earth doesn't. This experiment proves the Earth is fixed in space and doesn't move.

Ok, first of all, the first experiment where you jump up and are suppose to land hundreds of feet away. it'll never work. anyone here ever heard of relativity? or friction? or gravity? or air for that matter? the reason it'll never work is:
i. the earth is spinning at 700-1000 miles an hour, and you're spinning with it. while standing on the surface of the earth. you inherit it's momentum, so you are effectively traveling at 700-1000 miles a hour. when you jump up wards, you can only jump about 1-2 feet off the ground, and stay in midair for about half a second, while traveling at 700-1000 mile a hour. this short amount of time spent in midair is not enough to make a noticable difference in the distance the earth spun. to your perception at least. but, if it makes you feel any better, you can never jump straight up and land at exactly the same place, as the earth will have moved a tiny fraction. or, you can jump out of an airplane at several thousand feet without a parachute to test the reverend's theory.

I understand the part about momentum, but once you loose your bonds with the earth you lose your momentum as well. And the change in the Earth under your feet would be more than a "tiny fraction". Here is the mathematics that prove it.

Assume the Earth is traveling at 1000 mph. In one hour a spot on the earth will have traveled one thousand miles. Obviously. Now, 1000/60 = 16.666 miles in one minute. 16.666 / 60 = 0.277 miles per second. That is equivalent of moving 1466 feet per second.

If you were to jump up in the air for one second, the Earth would have moved 1466 feet away under your feet while you were suspended. The mathematics prove am I right and you are wrong. You would most certainly not come down in the same spot you jumped from.

Hi Janine, well, since i recieved a threat message from an a pastor (who shall remain nameless here). I'll be as civil as possible. Yes, the pickup truck test will not work, because the speed of the pickup truck is added to the speed of the rotating earth. While the air aound the pickup truck remains the same speed the earth is rotating at. Say if the earth is going at 1000 miles an hour, the pickup at 60 mph. 1000+60=1060 miles a hour. the wind around the pickup however, is at 1000mph, not 1060 as the suface area of the earth is significantly greator than that of the pickup. So, therefore, the friction between the earth and the air is greator thean the friction between pickup and air, so therefore the air will be moving at the speed of the earth. and 1060-1000=60. therefore there will be a wind difference of 60 mph between the pickup and the surrounding wind. Therefore the 60 mph wind will push you off of the pickup truck.
