I don't care how long God hides the Sun from the accursed Eskimos. That is irrelevant too, and has nothing to do with the flatness of the Earth or the veracity of God's Word. God can make the Sun shine however He wants to.

Why should we apostate our deeply held beliefs, an act that would damn us to eternal torment, for as something as trivial as the shape of the earth? It's pretty flat here anyway in Iowa.

And it's called Intelligent Falling. We have plenty of terms for the things you falsely attribute to secular (garbage) science, and our version happens to agree with scripture since God is silent about the nonsense you perpetuate.

And we don't have to know all the details. Maybe God sends his angels to hold our feet and everything else down to the ground, or who knows. What we do know is derived from the Word of God.

You seem to acknowledge "the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). Now all we've got to do is get you to admit that the Catholic Church is the hellbound harlot of Revelation and you'll be making progress.

Now, take a piece of paper and try to rip, tear, or cut the tiniest speck of paper possible. This paper represents a human being, much smaller in mass to the balloon, which represents the Earth. Now try and place the small piece of paper to the underside of the balloon. What happens? It falls off!

That's right. Even though the balloon is so much bigger in mass, it cannot hold the tiny paper. So if the Earth was a sphere, no one could live below the equator because they would fall off."

This is my first time on this page, so forgive any formatting or quoting errors I may perform. I have to disagree with your second example. The tiny paper will not stick to the balloon because the mass of the balloon is very small compared to the enormous mass of the earth. The paper is then pulled to the greatest mass within reasonable distance, which is the earth itself.

In answer to your question though, get one of those hot air balloons. Is that mass big enough for you? Stitch two together? Whatever. The point is it simply doesn't work. You can't make something stick to the bottom of a sphere just by this "gravity". It just defies sense.

I mean, if gravity sucks big things into little things and assuming all this secular nonsense about the sun being massive is true then answer me this - Why isn't the Earth in the sun? It would suck it in, surely. But we clearly don't live in the sun, we live on the top of the Earth. QED

This is making me very sad to read. Satan can just as easily confuse us by making us focus on things that don't matter instead of taking care of the commissions Christ gave to us. Care for the orphans and the widows, love our neighbors as ourselves, love the Lord our God with all our hearts, training up our children in the right way.

After browsing through this forum, it seems that Satan has a large grip on the people here. How? Through fear. If you truly don't understand the arguments that other people are trying to make for science that is fine, but the amount of use of words that denote ridicule, and indignance at such a small thing as a flat world is not from the Spirit. The Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. For starters, there is no patience, or gentleness in the motives of these teachings as far as what people are saying. There is a "WE NEED TO PROVE THEM WRONG BECAUSE THEY'RE EVIL" undertone here. Aren't they not just unsaved brothers and sisters? Did you stop living in the same house you lived in, or drinking the same type of water when you were saved? No. There are parts of our lives that do not physically change although they are now Spirit-filled. Science is not cut and dry evil. Paul talks about sin in Galatians and nowhere does he mention observation and exploration of God's creation. He mentions the Spirit realm, but if you stopped to look at what science strives to do, it is delve into creation and explore the intricate facets that God has placed on it. If anything, in his same list of sin, this forum is spreading dissension because it is making a problem of something that was never pertinent to Christ. He came for us, not a flat world.

That being said, I would like to explain some amazing things about science to those who will listen. And hopefully set the record straight with some of the claims of these experiments.

Firstly, a hot topic is the idea of disproving gravity with a balloon and a piece of paper. To try to disprove gravity, you must first understand what it is based on. Gravity is not shape based. It is mass based. The theory of gravity states that is something with Very Large Mass were to be within a distance of something with Very Large Mass, they would have a noticeable gravitational pull. It doesn't matter the shape. Now, a lot of you have discussed that we could make the balloons larger and it still would have no effect. I want you to picture a friend of yours who is the same size as you. Now, cycle through each friend of your similar size and tell me if they are all just as easy to carry. For that matter, have you ever picked up a balloon and a lead ball? which was harder to carry? Gravity is hinged on the idea of density. A balloon is the least dense thing we can pick for this experiment, which entails that the mass in that balloon is so spread out, there is no large amount of mass. If you think about the earth, it is supposedly made up of lots of rock with this theory. We've seen that. And one rock is much heavy than that balloon, and Trillions of those rocks would have to make up a ball earth. Paper is no where near the right comparison.

There are other things that I could touch on with the other two experiments, but suffice it to say, that the second one does not disprove gravity because it fails to even acknowledge the precepts of the theory. So what does this mean? The atheists are somehow swindling us still?

I would like to say that many of you have read about Quantum Mechanics, but from the certainty that science is evil, I feel like it's safe to say a fair number of you skipped that. Ironically, Quantum is partly the reason that this forum is even in place. Anyway, if you look at all the buildings in the world, they are build off of the principles of newtonian Physics which, while not wrong, take fair assumptions like things are always where they are. We can measure the strength of materials. And so on and so forth. In the 1900s people started to discover, that as they looked closer and closer at atoms in those materials, they could not actually measure them. Two precepts of Quantum Mechanics:

1. As soon as we attempt to view something we change it. We will never truly know what it was doing before.

2. Tunneling. That is two say, that if an atom was trapped by all these other atoms and forces so much so that it could never move from its confines, there is a proven probability that it will be outside of those confines.

What am I saying? Newtonian Physics, while the reason for societies technological advances in many things, says fundamentally that a man could never walk on water. Quantum Mechanics says, there's always a possibility.
Now, if God designed us to investigate his creation and take pleasure in it, and some of us are fascinated with always asking "why?", then it doesn't seem cliche to think that we are simply trying to piece together the pieces God put into place. And yes, for 300 years, if you believed science was absolute, Jesus or Peter never could have walked on water. But now, as we continue to investigate, we have actually scene that it's highly unlikely, but probable. And if you were God, and wanted to design a system so that your creation could have free will, probability could be one thing that allows for things like miracles to take place without infringing on our decisions. Because we can never manipulate the odds so that despite them it always comes out one way, but God can.

Now, do I think science is done exploring? No. Do I find this whole desire to disprove other people's inherent gift from God for exploration, rash? Yes. Because we have decided that those people can't make it into the kingdom of God and we are making our own children, by telling them reasonable arguments made by scientists (some of whom are christian), are dead wrong choose between God and something God inspired. We should instead be at the forefront of discovery. Christians are to take joy in their work, and as you can see, theories are just that. They are stepping stones. Flawed like us, and always open to correction. But that correction has to come from people who at least make sure to understand them first so that they know where people have already gone and how to move further. I know doubt can have someone ask me about evolution then. Most of the modern medicine and practices have stemmed from this theory. We are called as Christians not to treat it as law and have faith in God that He knows what happened when we can only speculate. But to tell people to never mention that is to ask for your modern births to be removed, penicillins, and anti-biotics to be destroyed. Do I believe God can heal us? Yes. I have seen Him do it. Do I believe, we would be asking him wrongfully if it was only to try disproving something that has been helping non-believers and believers? Yes, and I would be so bold to say, we would not be asking humbly and therefore not in accordance with what he asks of us in prayer.

ANYWAY, thank you for your time. We all have a heart for God, but our sinful nature is what will make our entire lives a growing experience in every area we experience. My area of weakness right now is in financial worry as I prepare to move to Mexico to help missionally, and in lusting. If you could pray for me in those when you think about it. I do hope that people hear can take some time to look at their approach to science and see if bold rejection is not quiet distrust that God has it all in control. God Bless.
