Yes, that theory was the same for the 'phlogiston', when people thought, fire was a so called substrance 'phlogiston'. The non-phlogiston-believers just said: "If it exists, isolate it". But the phlogiston believers were not able to. So, the theory fell. The same with the soul.
Isolate it to proof it.....

How can you isolate something that cannot be measured as it is not material?

What makes you think any True Christian(TM) believes in something just made up by "scientists" to explain things they don't understand? Phlogiston is just an obvious thing made up by people to fill a gap in their knowledge by invoking something unseen and undetectable and then trying to appear clever thereby.

No, it's a theory from humans of that time - the Bronze-Age. And they didn't isolate it or proof it. They just wrote it down. But that't not a proof. It's still an old book.

The Bible is not from the Bronze Age, it's from the Iron Age or more properly the Classical Period.

Bronze Age 3300 - 1200 BC

Iron Age 1200 - 600 BC

Classical Period 600 BC to 500 AD

Keep in mind Israel as a Kingdom only starts up around 1250 BC and most of The Old Testament was written down or collected during the Babylonian Exile 588 to 538 BC and the earliest New Testament books were written in 80AD. That puts The Bible squarely in the Hellenistic Culture of Greeks who Atheists get to dewy eyed over.

Well let me tell you something, friend. You're going to really wish your little soul had the safety of being isolated from the other prisoners when you go to Hell at the end of your life. You're just going to lay there on the moldy bed of your prison cell wishing with all your heart that the door had a lock on it to keep out the endless precession of demons eagerly lining up to rape you.
