Bible refudiates carbon dating as FALSE!!

Dear friends,

I'd like to introduce you to (Dr.) Andrew Snelling - a fine creation scientist who writes for Answers Magazine (Answers magazine is the Bible-affirming, creation-based magazine from Answers in Genesis). Now I understand we are skeptical of anyone that is not a True Christian™, but I can personally vouch for Dr. Snelling.


In a recent article Dr. Snelling was tasked by a heathen to prove the universe is only 6000 years old. For lack of better words, Dr. Snelling laid a Biblical Smackdown on the unsaved trash.


Here is the original question posed to Dr. Snelling:

You say the Universe is 6000 years old and that current scientific dating techniques are incorrect. How incorrect are they? Are they off by 10%, 90%? Because even if they are off by an incredible 90% the universe is still roughly 1.4 billion years old..So your position is that all techniques used in Geology, cosmology and Physics are wrong..And not just off but a little, but by an incredibly large error..How do you reconcile that position?

Here is the opening response by Dr. Snelling (personally I think this is really all he needed to write):

In a nutshell, yes, we are saying that almost all current scientific dating techniques are incorrect, because God as the almighty Creator has told us the age of the universe by direct revelation in His Word. He has told us the universe is only about 6,000 years old, and we accept that on His authority.

There you have it - if God tells us the universe is only 6000 years old, the the universe is only 6000 years old. Period.

You'll read in the article ALL relevant scripture to back up Dr. Snellings facts. However, I believe the most important scripture is noted in the closing statement:

Whom then do we trust, and where do we put our faith? In God or man? Our position is that we trust God and believe His Word as our authority. Man’s interpretation of the evidence is wrong because it is based on the wrong assumption. God cannot lie Titus 1:2 and Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life John 14:6.

There it is. GOD doesn't lie, man does - who do you believe? Secular liberal scientists who pour vinegar into baking soda and think they've got all the answers? Yeah right. I'll believe the word of the God as written in the Bible.

I think it is the height of hypocrisy that these scientists believe in "Carbon Footprints" yet go around spraying Carbon everywhere to disprove God.

There you have it - if God tells us the universe is only 6000 years old, the the universe is only 6000 years old. Period.

That really is all we need, isn't it?

And they say Christians aren't scientific! Of course we are! We even use the Creation Scientific Method!

First, read God's Word, which is the basis of fact.

Second, examine evidence.

Third, compare evidence with God's Word.

Fourth, explain how evidence proves God's Word.

You might want to view some of Dr. Kent Hovind's instructional videos on Youtube. He has crushed the theory of "carbon dating" many times over.

The reason atheists believe this is because they do not believe in God.
As they do not believe in His existence he is not there to provide the irrevocable truth; Doesn't matter if God lies as he isn't there to lie so anything said IS a lie as it is based on a false existence.
For an atheist to trust your evidence they must first trust in god. And as they do not you are attempting to do the impossible.

The same thing is happening on their side of the argument as yours:
You know the bible is the truth as written by God so any 'facts' they think up are wrong.
They know their 'science' to be correct but as it does not match the bible, and they do not believe it to be true, they claim the bible is wrong.

If you could convince every atheist that God is real, without the bible, you'd have a full conversion on your hands...

I must admit all this science is over my head. KISS is my motto. Does this have anything to do with the Satanic group of Global Warmists led by Gore the Homer Whore trying to establish " carbon tax credits". I believe it's similar to tithing but for evil secular purposes?

Anyway, my question is this...

Can anyone tell me what passages from the Bible are used to come to the conclusion that the Earth is 6000 (give or take) years old? I was raised Christian and I just don't recall that as something that was discussed.

I'm sure it's covered in a thread already, so if someone could point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

Why don't you start by introducing yourself in the place where you can post a thread. (It's call the Introduction Forum...or whatever.)

In the 17th century, Archbishop James Ussher wrote, "In Annales veteris testamenti, a prima mundi origine deducti" (Annals of the Old Testament, deduced from the first origins of the world.) By using biblical genealogy, he worked out that the first day of creation began at nightfall preceding Sunday, Oct 23, 4004 BC.

I was raised Christian and I just don't recall that as something that was discussed.

You obviously weren't raised Christian then, were you?

Dr. Snelling is truly a voice of sanity in the wilderness of science and modern religion.

I'm going to pass the next unsaved trash who won't take my word for it on to Dr. S. This was truly brilliant and it spoke to me.

According to God’s Word that assumption of constancy of process rates is wrong. Not only has He told us in the book of Genesis of His creation of the universe and everything in it in six normal-length days (emphasized again in Exodus 20:11), but geologic and other processes were accelerated during the catastrophic global Flood in the days of Noah (Genesis 6–9).

Plain and simple. Just like God said it happened. Shout glory!

No! You can not be a Christian for 99%. Either you follow the Holy Bible for 100% or you will burn in Hell for all eternity.

Not really, we worship God, you have social meetings in a brick-built single story building with a white steeple where vague notions of The Lord may sometimes enter into the conversation.
