Here's a list from a SECULAR source, with my comments in red:

As can be plainly seen by a review of this eight-point "warning list" for destructive cults, Landover Baptist Church fits NO definition of a cult whatsoever! So all you outsiders can relax, stop suing us for "taking your children away", or stop complaining that your aged parents gave Landover "your" inheritance. (Did YOU earn it? No, I didn't think so. GOD did.)

Landover Baptist Church is NOT a cult. QED.
1: This church is totalitarian. It suspends, bans, and warns people for having an opinion against theirs AND it also seems you guys are butthurt when I speak logic and actually make sense.
2: It also seems you seem to be very strict and hate anybody who says you are stereotyping, when obviously you are stereotyping.
3: I have nothing to say about this one. Honest.
4: Well, this is sort of like you. It's not exclusive, but you urge it is the only way to live a good life. The retard to the right is you. ===>
5: Well, this is sort of like it, but you try to get any critics off the fourms instead of having a good, logical, mind-enriching debate. Instead, you hate on critics, saying things like "Go to Hell!", "Jesus Hates You!", and "hurrdurr we h8 joo".
6: I do not really know.
    7: I do not know.
8: You are obviously doing this. I do not know how, but I have a feeling in my suspicion bone that you guys are suspicious.
In conclusion, about four out of eight cult characteristics fit you. You have the possibility to be a cult. You sure do act like it. Now do not get all butthurt and ban me. I want a logical debate with reliable evidence that is not from a 3,000 year book. If you are not a cult, reply to this post with actual evidence that disproves this, not "hurrdurr b&hammr plz", "blahblahblah faith", or "LOL GOD H8S JOO!!!". I want a nice, long talk. No logical fallacies, no flawed logic, no bias or stereotypes, just stuff that supports your opinion. Until then, I bid you Adieu.

    Mathew 7: KJV

14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Exactly! And it's like most of the people there weren't even friendly! But the second I stepped into a Baptist church, I could tell something was different. The preacher was actually happy to be up on the stage. It wasn't boring. They have Sunday school for the children. A nursery for the babies.

IMHO the Landover Baptist Church is more Christian as a big lot of those who are empty and which "priests" have never read the Holy Bible.

Really? The original Bible was in Latin? Wow, it must be cool to be as smart as you.

I'll let someone else explain where you are wrong there if they are so inclined.

22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Do you "love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind" you insufferable fool? Of course not. You are here to spit on Jesus and persecute His chosen.

Now, do me a favor and run outside your hovel or shack or whatever you call home and see if I'm living next door to you. See if even one True Christian™ lives anywhere near you. Go ahead, I'll wait......

Okay, what did you see? Am I your neighbor? Of course not. You don't even speak American. I would never live anywhere near the cesspool you call home, nor would any self-respecting Christian. You see, Jesus was speaking to His followers about THEIR neighbors. The neighbors of Christians are OTHER Christians. Jesus certainly wasn't advocating for Christians to love heathen scum and homers like you. Surely you aren't THAT thick?

You have rejected Jesus and instead worship satan. Here is what Jesus has to say about you:

Luke 19:27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

    Any more questions, homer?

I suppose it does make your job easier when people have money to help pay your salary.

I'll take my number 5 combo with onion rings instead of fries and Dr. Pepper to drink.

You continually confuse resources -- space, fertile land, raw materials -- with money. Money is merely a means of standardizing resources so they may be easily valued and exchanged.

Money is never the real reason for a war.

Did the Israelites slaughter the Midianites over money? (Numbers 31)

    Nope.

The war on drugs about saving the lives of America's youth. The war on terror is designed to eliminate terror threats around the world.

I'm sure you'll joo it up and make it seem like those are about money, too.

One war I was asked about was Viet Nam. The US feared the Domino Effect: if Viet Nam fell to the Communists, the whole region would fall under USSR domination and become a market for Soviet goods and services (including military hardware).

Earlier I was told to read a Wikipedia article about Saddam Hussein. Eventually I had my attention drawn to parts of the article that drew attention to the financial causes of the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. Before that I was assured that Iraq was already a market for US goods and services, although in fact Saddam used Soviet made Scud missiles.

If anyone wants to dispute the proposition that all wars are about money, I would be grateful if they would deal with the argument rather than employ devices that circumvent the issue in question. I take all evasions to be a rather unkind way of admitting that all wars are about money.

    Is that okay?
    No, that is NOT okay.

I have already corrected you on this issue, and frankly I'm losing patience with your uppityness and your insistence on debating issues that God has resolved for us long ago.

War is about God Almighty. No shut up and STUDY YOUR BIBLE!

Exodus 15:3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.

Psalm 144:1 Blessed be the LORD my strength which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:

Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
