Do people come on who are legitimately crazy Christians (capitalization... so hard) and think you're not joking? And do you all laugh at them secretly? Or is everyone in on it except the people who are clearly horrified?

You say "further question", but you ask 3. I will to attempt to answer them:

1. A legitimate Christian is not crazy, but follows the Bible. In this day and age, when you see someone being miserable, you think that's normal. When you see people being confident and happy, you think they are crazy.

2. We most certainly not laugh. We weep.

4. People are often horrified when they learn that they will go to Hell. We try to un-horrify them by giving them a way out.

I recently received a letter from a concerned parent. In the letter she told me that her daughter had been raped, but was refusing to marry her rapist as per Deuteronomy 22:28-29. The stupid girl actually wants to press charges on the man!

Not only that, but that she also plans to kill the poor unborn baby her rapist had given her! Sickening! Have young people today got NO morals?

Any and all advice on what I can say to convince this girl to do the right thing would be great. Should I start with the basics ?

"Whore, you'll burn in Hell for all eternity - unless you marry your rapist"??

Or should I go for a more subtle approach??

If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found; Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.

This is sickening. Why would anybody marry a sick criminal who does this to her? The bible is truly horrific. And also, killing the baby would be the best thing, as the child would be distraught that his/her father was a rapist and her/his mother was a victim. Let her marry who she wants and dont ruin her life with this.

Friend, that is your opinion, and not mine. For me it's a book of Glory. Yes, there are some parts that may seem a bit hard to stomach at first, but who am I to critisize our Creator? I think it's mainly down to the sissification of our society that it seems a bit harsh now and then.

Our God is a God of tough love friend.

WOW, you people leave me completely dumbfounded. Frankly I don't much care for being banned from these forums as I only registered here to leave a reply to this specific topic. I was drawn to this by a post on a humor related site and was utterly baffled by the sheer stupidity and blindness of your so called "morals" exhibited here.

You people SERIOUSLY think its the GIRLS fault she got raped?? Not to mention the face because HE raped HER she has to marry him all because some book that has been supposedly translated and passed down hundreds of years said so? Thats utter bullshit and insanity.
