Were do the girl's morals come into this? The woman was assaulted by that horrible man. He must make restitution to her. Since she is damaged goods now the rapists should be the man who has to marry and take care of her.

"Damaged goods"....in what way does losing your virginity make you any less good? There is nothing to suggest (other than unproven religious stuff...) that you become damaged when losing your virginity....

The rapist is not a victim. I've read some of the excuses such as the woman dressing provocatively...er...I can re frame myself from raping every half dressed woman I see quite regularly, so it's his fault, and he is breaking the law.

Anyone can be saved, but saved from what? The woman isn't being saved by being forced to spend her life with someone who has raped her, and all the other innocent women who will fall victim to this rapist are not being saved by this rapist not being put in jail, as both a punishment for what he has done and for the safety of other people.

If you are so interested in facts, why not discount the proven fact that at least 9% of women have frequent fantasies of rape? And that at least 25 of rape accusations turn out to be false. Sometimes a man has to wait for 20 years of hard prison time before he is exonerated.

Very often, the man in question did not rape the woman, but she merely did not want to fess up to her adultery or having a one-night stand.

I've been following along here since about my last post, and am a little saddened by some of my fellow Christians posts and comments.

The first being to James whom if really does hold a degree or two in English and does not know the expression "with bated breath" then I just don't know what to say about him, has not everyone encountered this expression in their lifetime?

The other thing that bugs me is all the pathetic and petty tactics some people on both sides of this argument are using, ESPECIALLY all the people twisting other posters words. Honestly what does his screen name, or the mention of 4chan have anything to do with this rapist matter?

There are those in this thread especially whom I would consider enemies of God. They need to be saved and are terribly mistaken however:

Care to back that up with Scripture? The position we are persecuted for traces directly to the Bible. All (aspiring) True Christians have behaved themselves commendably and remained entirely calm while having their intelligence and morals insulted and even had threats of physical injury hurled their way.

You come in here posing as a Christian with the intent of weakening the Bible. Thus far, the only thing you have proven as to your affiliation is that you are in doubt and that your status is "Unsaved trash".

That said, if you were a True Christian™ then the subsequent times you forced the woman to have relations with you would NOT constitute rape since you would be married.

What facts have we not already discussed? Have you read the Bible? We are just repeating what it says. Why do you hate the Bible? Perhaps you were raised in a community of people who like to talk about John 3:16 as if it were the ONLY part of the Bible? If so, I am sorry for you.

Try this simple exercise to get rid of the "cafeteria Christian" type of "belief" taht may be haunting you and preventing you from connecting with Jesus: Every time you hear a True Christian™ politician or talking head mention "Christian Values" or that our country was created based on "Biblical Values," visit our fairly new Read The Bible in a Year forum and read the Bible scripture for whatever day you are on. I recommend watching Fox News since this will guarantee that you visit our forum at least once every 20 minutes. I guarantee you that doing so will quickly show to you what the Bible is REALLY all about and turn you into a True Christian™!!
