I don't need to read the bible to know whats right and proper hun. RAPE is wrong it's not the victims fault. Rapists are animals, anyone who would try and force a rape victim to marry the man that raped them are no better than the rapist.
The poor girl needs love and support to get her through this ordeal not forced into marrying the scum that abused her. Her so called parents should be ashamed of themselves.

First of all, if the woman is a True Christian(TM) she is protected by Jesus and won't get raped.

Second, go read Deuteronomy 22 and tell us what it says should happen if a woman is raped. If she screams while in the country and nobody hears her, then no it's not her fault. If she just lays there, like the sickular police and rape groups tell her, then yes she consented and should be punished. If she is unbetrothed, then she should marry the man and he is never allowed to divorce her, if she is betrothed, then the man, or both of them are to be stoned depending on the situation.

I believe you are interpreting scripture wrong. Think about it, do you seriously think that raping someone is humbling them as the scripture says. We are only saying that the Biblically prescribed punishment for rape should be carried out, which is that the rapist must buy the victim from her father for 50 shekels, which is the going rate for a woman according to God and the Bible. You are saying that instead of doing what God says we should murder an innocent child. How does that make any sense?

Well, first of all, the girl should obviously be punished for allowing herself to be raped. I recommend daily spankings.

As for her insolent refusal to follow God's law, she must be tied to her bed until she complies. And on no account should she be allowed to murder the child.

Of the people here that support the marriage of the daughter and the rapist, how many know that the Deuteronomy verses they keep repeating are in accordance with the Israeli law system at the time of the written book? Please, do not see this as hateful, for I am just a curious bystander that would like to be educated in the word and His followers... Oh, and what if the women is engaged, but not married?

For someone who purports to have knowledge of Biblical history, you fall far short. You could at least have read the rest of the chapter.

Read Deuteronomy 22:23-27. You know, the verses right before Deuteronomy 22:28-29.

There you will learn what to do if a man rapes a woman who is betrothed, that is, sold to a man : If in the city, then since she did not cry for help, both shall be stoned to death. If in the country, then only he shall be stoned to death, and she will be considered guiltless.

If she is 'merely engaged', I assume by this you mean 'under contract' or 'pre-sold', she is then still a virgin and the rapist must pay her father and marry her. I would expect the intended husband would anticipate a refund of his purchase price, and the rapist may well end up paying that as well.

He hasn't got a choice. It's part of his punishment for fornicating that he will have to endure a grumpy resentful wife until he dies and feed and clothe her so her father isn't saddled with a daughter nobody else will ever marry.
