I'm saying that Twilight is good for girls. It teaches them to be subservient creatures and to deny themselves for the good of her man and her babies.

This new Twilight Eclipse movie also teaches a good lesson against abortion even if it will endanger the life of the mother.

I like how it really toned down the violence in the second installment. There is a huge battle going on between an army of vampires and werewolves against other vampires. They don't show the actual battle leaving it to our imagination. Instead the characters talk about their feelings while massive carnage and death goes on away from the camera.

I believe Twilight is the exact sort of thing we at Landover Baptist can get behind.

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing.

Re: Is "Twilight" good for young Christian girls to read?

An excellent review. I myself have read the books (after my husband did, to make sure they were suitable) and while it was written by an unholy Mormon, it does send excellent messages to teenage girls.
I particularly liked how simple and repetetive the text was. It makes it easy for girls to read; we don't want girls reading anything too hard.
I gave the books to my teenage daughter, and we had a long discussion about which parts of the book were right and wrong. I made it clear to her that while Bella is a fantastic role model in most respects, she is still a non Christian who desires sex.
