I am puzzled how I should know who to believe in this matter. The Verse you're referring to is probably Ezekiel 33:11:

Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

This Verse clearly teaches that God doesn't like it when the wicked die. Does that mean there's a contradiction?

Of course not. Scripture is infallible, and entirely internally consistent. Atheists like you may claim that, for example, it would be impossible for Jesus to have two different genealogies. What they do not realize is that, with God, anything is possible, including having two genealogies!

So what does that mean?

It means that God rejoices to destroy the wicked, but doesn't feel pleasure about their deaths. That might sound strange, but that's because our mortal minds are simply too insignificant to understand the wondrous way God's Mind works.

And in case one Verse isn't enough for you, there are many Verses which condone True Christians™ to rejoice over the demise of the wicked:

Psalm 37:12-13:
The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth. The LORD shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.

Because God sees that the end approaches for the wicked, He laughs at them.

Psalm 52:1-7:
Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually. The tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.
Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.
God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.
The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:
Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.

When God destroys wicked people, the righteous are allowed to laugh at them. That's irrefutable proof that we really are allowed to rejoice over other people's destruction.

Psalm 58:10-11:
The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked. So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

This Verse follows a part where God is glorified for destroying the wicked in creative ways. And, surprise, they rejoice over their enemies' destruction.

Psalm 59:8-13:
But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.
Because of his strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defence.
The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies.
Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield.
For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak.
Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah.

God will laugh at the heathen, and then continue to destroy him.

Proverbs 1:24-30:
Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

We are allowed to laugh at the calamities of those who refuse to accept the Teachings of the Bible (which is what we do in the case of the Japan Earthquake), and mock them while they are in fear. That's what this Passage literally says.

Proverbs 16:4:
The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

God has created the wicked specifically for punishing them on the day of evil. Do you really think God would have done that if He didn't like dealing out punishment?

This is also why we are allowed to pray for the violent destruction of our enemies:

Actually, we have a child and are planning to get married in 4months. I make an extremely good living, and plan to give my child a better life than i had. And, I'm not extremely good looking, more of a geek if you will, but i love my wife, and she loves me, is that but all that matters?
