Of course I gave him a hard beating and made him pray to the LORD until bedtime. Me and my wife are in shock, I have beaten my sons all their lives but sometimes they don't seem to understand the will of God. I am very concerned about this and I simply don't know what to do. I have always given them a daily spanking before bedtime but I feel like they need more beatings so they can seriously feel God's anger. Should I beat them more often or is there a better way to make them understand?

I believe masturbation is a healthy thing, especially for those whole think sex is only for marriage. Waiting until marriage means that young men and women have no natural way of dealing with their sexual tendencies. These tendencies could manifest in ways that are harmful to others. Sexually deviant behaviour often stems from people who were not dealing with their sexual energy properly. If you wish young men and women to wait until marriage, and not express their sexual energies in deviant ways (flashing, touching, which can escalate to rape), we must allow a natural way to deal with these feelings. If done in private, I believe this can be a healthy solution.

1) Disobeying God's command to impregnate his brother's wife.

2) Performing Coitus

3) An opposition to birth control in general

or

4) A general dislike of spilling seed upon the ground.

Insofar as a reasonable observer could see, 1 seems to be the most probable, though certainly, many seem to think 3 or 4 are the case, which out of context of that particular verse would make sense, yet substantially less when considered as part of the whole narrative of Onan.

The Holy Bible has more than stories. It contains historical and scientific fact. The Smithsonian in Washington D.C. uses the Holy Bible as a resource for ancient history of Biblical Times. You may not believe in God, but He believes in you. You may not believe in Spiritual Warfare, but it is being fought, on your behalf even! There are powers and forces that we cannot see or feel with our human senses, but to be so arrogant as to say that just because it doesn't make sense then God must not exist, is foolish!
