We can't understand the bible fully, we dont even scratch the surface of the knowledge of the Lord, but the Bible is still given to us as an opportunity to hear from God and try and understand how he wants us to live for him, no one could ever give a definite answer to exactly what anything in the bible means, that includes wether it is literial or not, so all we can do is try and think logicaly as to what fits as a metaphor and what fits as to a way of living, again - pretty sure that God still wants us worshiping him in all ways possible

Ha ha! this has got to be one of the most funniest forums I think I've probably ever read! So, according to Christianity, if I listen to Rock music (which is MY salvation!) I'm going to Hell. Honestly, I'd LOVE to meet the person who thought this crap up. ROCK IS ONLY MUSIC!! There is no secretive drum beat that could possess peoples souls or whatever, or lyrics that could raise the Devil. ITS JUST MUSIC! And awesome music at that!! And all this stuff with women knowing 'their place', GET WITH THE 21ST CENTURY! It's actually quite a nice place!

Do you really think young women attacking their own parents after being driven into a frenzy of lust and rage by rock music is funny? Friend, as this article shows, a simple, unsyncopated 4/4 beat is toxic, eating away at the very foundations of Western Civilization. Metaphorically, rock musicians are the new barbarians outside the gates of our cities waiting to plunder and pillage.

Those aren't Christian lyrics, it's simply a poem whining about wanting a different existence. It also references a Steinbeck book, which is not only offensive unto the LORD, but probably goes right over your head and the head of every teen listening and pining for a reality they will only find in their imaginations.

Ok, find a part of the bible that says rock is bad, and metal is bad. You can't. While the culture surrounding some bands may be one of sin, I assure you that Christian rock bands, such as Switchfoot, and Christian metal such as Oh Sleeper are just another way to worship the God I love.

So why would a group of people claim to be Christian and write lyrics that can be taken in Christian context and in a way that has been helpful towards my faith. Friend, anything from random poetry to art to tv shows can inspire thoughts you may interpret to be helpful towards your faith. They can also inspire thoughts you may interpret to be detrimental towards your faith. The question isn't, How can you be inspired by different things in the world? The question is, Does this contribute to your Salvation or not? These lyrics do not, clearly. Instead they provide for you an excuse for more of this emo naval-gazing habit you have developed. Stop pondering what you think and why. Repent unto the LORD, allow Jesus to be your LORD and Master, and then obey completely, without restriction.

You all are perfect examples of how 'rock' music rotted your brains.
The simple 4/4 beat interferes with your heart beat and is documented to cause uncontrollable acts to occur. The effect over time is to addict the individual to it so the craving for more grows and grows. Most rock addicts do not even realize they are hooked. They just claim (like you all do) "They like it and want to listen to more".
Friend, it is also exactly how Satan works. He seduces you with sweet words, appears to help you over the hurdles of life when in fact he is plying your ass cheeks, drooling in anticipation of penetrating your rectum with his sinewy hand.
