The actor had been teaching acting for film and camera for three years at a charter school for the arts. "These were 13-, 14-year-old kids [he was teaching], and they didn’t know 'Welcome Back, Kotter,'" Greg Hauptner, founder and CEO of G-Star Academy, told the Post on Tuesday. "The kids went back and watched just about every episode. It drove him crazy, but he loved every minute of it."

Mayim Bialik Injured in Car Accident

Blossom star Mayim Bialik was seriously injured Wednesday in a car accident in Los Angeles.

Bialik, 36, was driving in L.A. when a car with three tourists from Chile turned into her vehicle at Hollywood Boulevard and caused the crash, LAPD Sgt. Monte Houze tells PEOPLE.

"From what I was told, there was a lot of blood at the scene," says Houze.

He says Bialik suffered "a severe injury to her left thumb" and was taken to a local hospital. The tourists were not cited or detained.

But the star won't be losing a digit. On Wednesday afternoon, Bialik posted a message on Twitter saying, "(husband typing) In pain but will keep all my fingers. If u wanna see pre accident me watch The Soup tonight lol."

TMZ first reported the accident.

'Top Gun' director Tony Scott dead after jumping off bridge

"Top Gun" director Tony Scott fatally jumped off the Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro on Sunday afternoon, according to Los Angeles police sources.
His body was pulled out of the water by Los Angeles Police Department, California Highway Patrol and U.S. Coast Guard officials.
[For the record, 9:48 p.m. Aug. 19: An earlier version of this post incorrectly said a suicide note was found in Scott's car, which was parked on the bridge. In fact, the note found in his car listed contact information. Investigators later found a suicide note at his office.]
Law enforcement sources said several witnesses saw Scott, the brother of director Ridley Scott, climb over a fence on the bridge and jump off.
The coroner's office identified him Sunday evening.
Scott was a respected action-movie director who also made "Enemy of the State," "Beverly Hills Cop II" and "Crimson Tide."
