There are two holes in your theory. First, if they are too retarded to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior, then by definition they cannot be saved. Second, there is no "age of accountability" in the Bible.

I'm not sure the retarded have souls, so maybe when they die, that's it for them. They are not held responsible for crimes as we do not expect them to differentiate between good and evil, and that is one of the salient points for being deemed an ensouled being.

If we coalesce into a moral certainty that the retarded are unensouled, then perhaps we might bend the more useful among them towards our profitable undertakings . . . .

Your right accountability is never mentioned in the bible. Just as the word
trinity is never mentioned in the bible. But we as Christians to believe and know that God Jesus and the Holy Spirit are one in the same. But look at
2 Samuel 12: 22-23 where David looses his son.

I do believe these are the king James version, forgive me if they are not.
2 Samuel 12: 22-23
22: And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live? 23: But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.

By that passage even though we are born with original sin and born sinners
it shows that his child goes to heaven. Not all people with retardation are
as stupid as you think, it just takes things longer to transfer thoughts from one side of the brain to another. If they are smart enough to differentiate right from wrong they are help accountable. If they are not and have the same mentality as a child like David's then they will be saved by the grace of God. Like wise people who have never heard of God or been preached to

Also, regarding the age of accountability and particularly the passage from 2 Samuel that you quote, you may wish to read this article. Since the site is a non-LBC site, we cannot vouch for the Godliness of everything on it, but the author of this particular article shows a thorough knowledge of Scripture. I would add that John 3:18 includes no exception for those below any age of accountability.

Are you people serious!? How on earth can you preach about God never ending love, mercy and compassion, and then condemn people for having a mental disorder? God is just, if the person does not have the condition to understand salvation, God is marcyful, gracious, loving and forgiving, he will save that special person and even a small child that is too young to understand salvation. If you find any biblical evidence to support your crazy idea that for some reason children and the mentally disabled are going to eternal damnation, then everything in the Bible about Gods love is fake. If the whole Bible could be summed up in one word....im 100% sure, without a doubt that LOVE would be that word. So..how bout we all start practicing some love?

If you find any biblical evidence to support your crazy idea that for some reason children and the mentally disabled are going to eternal damnation, then everything in the Bible about Gods love is genuine.

John 3:18: He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (Note the lack of an exception for those who for whatever reason lack the mental capacity to believe.)

Publicist Laura Gilmore said Harris died Thursday night after being stricken at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills, and a cause of death had not been determined.

If it's a homer dying in his fifties, I think we can always determine the cause of death.
