    Detroit poised to exit historic bankruptcy

    Detroit will officially exit the biggest-ever U.S. municipal bankruptcy later on Wednesday, officials said, allowing Michigan’s largest city to start a new chapter with a lighter debt load.

    The city, which filed for bankruptcy in July 2013, will shed about $7-billion (U.S.) of its $18-billion of debt and obligations.
    It seems that Detroit has, at last, sold enough drugs, robbed enough liquor stores, been paid enough welfare, and avoided enough paternity orders to pay its way out.

    I'm looking for a caption for the picture.

    There is a story on a "Mayor's ONLY" website that says the Detroit City Council plans to keep the city afloat with bank robberies.

    It's an inside joke, of course, but among Mayors there is little optimism about a city of negroes and narcotics.

    It will be interesting to see if the City Council starts its meetings with a prayer.
    Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

      The caption should read: Prayers didn't work - the last two Democrats turn the lights off before leaving Detroit
      Hell's foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
      brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.
      ...and get off my lawn

        Detroit should just shut down, and some True Christians should take it over. Mr. Mayor, what do you think about clearing Detroit of the trash, and incorporating Detroit (the land) into Landover, to make more room and spacious living for the True Christians, and those that will eventually become True Christians (I meekly hope to be one some day, but I know that as a woman, I have a long way to go still.)

          I would like to think, Mrs. Johnson, there is hope for Detroit. However, it is located too far from Freehold to incorporate. The thought occurred to me we could send some of our Pastors there to look at starting a True Christian™ church in Detroit.

          I asked the Freehold Police Department is there were any volunteers to provide security of such a mission by our pastors. There were no volunteers.

          So, as it stands we are unable to help.

            Back in 2008 we were offered the entire city of Detroit for about $1200. I passed on the deal. The demolition costs alone made it prohibitive. Plus it would have been a messy business to relocate all those coons.

                Nah. The transportation of all these ruins and other garbage overseas would be too expensive. I've been to Detroit, and there seems to be only one solution: burn it to the ground. Then the land could be used to build something useful.
