Unfortunately, you will find many of those on this site. They join every day, coming to tell us how stupid we are for following Jesus instead of worshiping ourselves.

They all seem to think that Christians are few and far between, because there don't happen to be many in their homeroom class.

They somehow forget that 78% of Americans identify as Christian; the Tea Party Christians took control of the House and nearly the Senate this year; and that even Obama continually insists that he is a Christian, not a Muslim. (And is quite obviously not an atheist, either way.)

What he said. From an early age (about 7) I have wondered "why does so-and-so say that, claiming Biblical authority, when the Bible a) does not say that and b) actually says something else (or doesn't seem to mention it at all)?

I wouldn't have used the expression "claiming Biblical authority" at that age, but understood the concept - and had not read enough of the Bible to know its entire content. However, to the extent that so-and-so had said such-and-such without relevant scripture (or more particularly giving some scripture that was not relevant) I became "curious" about the actual origin of their opinion.

Well curious is not quite the word. The origin was obviously extra-Biblical and either they'd dreamed it up themselves or taken somebody's word for it - but why would anyone do that? I didn't, then and don't, now. But if one did do that - why would they claim something else?

It would seem we've reached the level of:

English teachers sniffing coke through green straws, then - unable to resist that packet of cigarette papers to roll up a "spliff" - wallowing in self loathing and bemoaning the existence of all paper

Why does that exist in the first place.

In a knee-jerk attempt to sober up: out comes the cylinder of oxygen but alas that knocks one flat on one's back staring mongo at the sky - Satan passes the pencil and masturbation commences.

This will not be the nadir of debauchery. Secular "teachers" promote this sort of thing: essay titles such as "My First Gay Kiss" get extra marks to offset spelling mistakes.
