Neither Velveeta nor American cheese are true cheeses - they're cheese flavored products.

Technically, they're "Pasteurized Processed Cheese Food". Which is American for Cheese. Thus..."American Cheese". Some kinds even have milk in them.

You may as well eat soap if the Cheddar doesn’t attack the back of your tongue like a salty rasp file. A really good, at least a year old, Cheddar will allow your breath to wilt roses at 3 paces.

But seriously, cheese can get to the point that it's unhealthy. It tends to spoil easily......
