Whatch out brother, starting to worry about the flowers and grass is a hippy way of thinking. Besides, God has given us this world to be used, that includes grass and flowers.

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

And like brother Mark has said - we have strict rules given by God about slavery, and God is clear - we have to provide slaves with some things so that we get at least some work done by them. The example would be my hunting dog. Even if it is just a beast with no soul, I still provide him with food, shelter and watter, because I need him for hunting. The same goes with slaves.

Very good point, I understand giving the slaves the food, clothes, shelter and equipment, but you cant humanize them and treat them as equals, they must know they belong to their masters.

I didn't humanize them, that's why I gave an example of my hunting dog. They are just about its level, but not near.

Only America produces best rifles and hunting dogs. Besides, I know Jesus would have used American hunting products as well. After all, He was the first Republican.

I have always thought the word 'Slavery' was a very bad choice. Just like being Saved(c), at a point in a persons life, they make a choice.
I have many fine employees. Sadly, they all have made poor choices in life. Being a True Christian(tm) man, I reach out to the down trodden refuse and do what I can. It would be wrong for me to give them a handout. It would be wrong for me to give a starving man a heaping plate of beef stew. It would be wrong to let a destitute family, even one with a female about to give birth, free shelter from the night. What decent man could hold his head up knowing he was a worthless beggar. No, I reach out to the unwashed, give them food, shelter and a job. To help in regaining self respect and the respect of Jesus, I loan the resources (and yes, money too) so the people are not leeches on the teat of others. All I ask in return is the person pay me back before they leave my plantation. Sadly, so many of these people are so lazy that they pay me for a weeks rent, food and clothing service and owe more than they earned. A few have run off only to have the Vengeance of the Holy Ghost come upon them, often by accidental drowning in the swamp or falling off a cliff.
Little pleases me more than when a families son, offers to assume the debt of the father. That is responsibility. At that point, I know my efforts to spread the Love of Jesus(r) is working.

Why not just be grateful that somebody's thinking the same way you are...you attract more flies with honey than with vinegar.

I hold a "Saved until proven otherwise" policy for my fellow Christians (key word being "fellow Christians")...it's time you do the same.
