It sounds like somebody just picked these out and called them sins. I remember asking you if having too much pride was a sin,and you said yes. But here you are calling it a lie by saying that the 7 deadly sins are a lie. Did you not know that pride was one of them?

How is it prideful if it's true? The "seven deadly sins" exist nowhere in the Bible. There are dozens of deadly sins in the New Testament alone.

Nobody's arguing that some Catholic has attempted to raise his personal viewpoint above Scripture; they do it all the time. What people are trying to explain to you is that (according to the Bible) any sin is deadly.

James 2:10 "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."

Just because you cannot understand what you're being told does not make it any less factual.

I understand, what my main point is that they cherry pick the bible. They do it attune to their views. I've seen some creative interpretations of scripture during my time on this board that is beyond belief.

This is why i'm pressing them on it. Fundamentalist pick and choose what parts of the bible to follow,plain and simple. This is becoming more and more obvious, the more rational people call them out and ask questions. I would like to see is one person, one fundamentalist, one evangelical, someone, explain why they are so hung up on gay people, but you’re wearing polyester, don’t honor the Sabbath and haven’t stoned an adulterer lately.

Yes,I know,secular law. But there is a thread on this site where a man killed another man according to this scripture.

Matthew:5:28 - But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

No one from this site condemn this action eventhough he broke god's commandment. Something they say has to be followed to the letter.

Polyester is a synthetic fabric, and there is no Biblical prohibition against synthetic fabrics.

We honor the Sabbath, and we don't stone adulterers like Newt Gingrich because we're directed to follow secular law.

This guy is obsessed with those bears. I mean it's a good story and it teaches kids a valuable lesson about respect but it's not walking on water for a miracle. Bears are savage beasts; all God needed to do was make them miraculously more ferocious. If he wants a miracle to really praise God for he needs to go for something that violates these so-called laws of physics.

The sins of the father

Isaiah is a prophecy against the King of Babylon, explaining the wrath of the Lord.

Deuteronomy is a law given to men, describing how they are to conduct themselves.

God may kill anyone He chooses, and is not bound by the laws He gives to men. Just as your parents might say you must go to bed promptly at 9 pm, but themselves stay up until 11.

Genesis 1 describes the creation of the entire universe. Genesis 2 describes the creation of Eden. These are different creation stories.

That's why Genesis 1 describes God creating "men and women", but then later we see Adam, and Eve made from his rib. Adam and Eve were the first Jews, not the first humans.

Judas hanged himself, and left the rope too long so he fell down (probably losing his head in the process) and his bowels came out.

I strongly suggest you watch "Hannibal" (2001), the sequel to "Silence of the Lambs", where the title character shows religious artwork (which I've not yet been able to find) showing Judas hanging, with his bowels out . . . and then conducts a re-enactment for the viewer's benefit.
