Are you not living your life off of a book written by someone else? The bible is inspired by God, not hand written by God. The bible has been changed many times over, things have been left out and added in. John Wycliffe, John Hus, Martin Luther, John Colet, Thomas Linacre the list goes on and on. I am right handed along with the rest of my family but I feel no more superior than a left handed person. The bible can be interpreted in many ways, thus the reason for so many different religions.

Don't be silly! You shouldn't feel any more superior than anyone else. All sinners are the same in God's eyes, and you all make Him angry every day (Psalm 7:11).

When you've given over you life to Christ, then you'll feel different. You'll be different. You'll be perfect!

I'm southern Baptist and I'm left handed and I believe that everything said about being left handed is symbolic and used metaphorically and not once did any one mention about the 700 warriors in the book of judges or any other left handed warrior also mentioned in scripture and it sounds like to me people are forgetting exactly why Christ died for us just because I'm left handed doesn't make me evil or I bad person Christ is my saviour and I love him and I look at it this way if god almighty didn't want me to be a lefty I would have been born right handed god has a plan for me and that plan includes me being left handed and if being left handed is wrong then god shall open my eyes to it until then I'm proud to be a lefty and god bless you all

It is so nice of you to come to us to worship Jesus our Savior. You have many admirable qualities based on your post but I am also deeply worried about your attitudes towards revelation, i.e., the methodology of God to make Himself known to us.

Psalms 12:6
The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

Let us look at the verse above.

• Obviously, it is beautiful and magnificent but it also tells us in a compact form how to read the Bible.
• "Pure words! Purified seven times!"
• There is no doubt, no mention of symbolism or metaphors. Pure words.
• You must take the Words of God as they were written. That is the only path to Salvation.

Being left-handed does not make you evil. Disregarding God's Word does. Left-handedness can be easily cured with adequate prayer.

Isn't it glorious that left-handedness can be either a disease or caused by demons? Whatever the cause, it can be healed by prayer. This means that there is still lots of hope for you and you don't have to despair just because you lack dexterity in your right hand!

Hi, I found this forum because there was a funny post on Facebook about how many times the Bible said it's a sin to be left-handed. I wondered if that was true and googled, "left hand bible sin", and found this thread! At first I thought everything was satire and, admittedly, I did not read the entire 35 pages or so of comments.

But here's what struck me: there is much talk of atheists hating God and similar notions. I suppose the occasional angry troll logs in and says something nasty and leaves, which isn't very constructive and leaves the believers on this forum in dismay (or angry or whatever).

One of the most striking things about this discussion, for a non-believer such as myself, is that the Faithful do not seem to comprehend what it is like to not believe in God (or any deity). So I thought I'd take it upon myself to explain. And before people start going down the pervert/homosexual/deviant path let me say that I am 40, have three sons, am married (and heterosexual), have never been unemployed, make a lot of money, well educated with a master's degree and partially through a 2nd master's. I've never been in prison and I pay my taxes and all that. I apologize in advance if I don't properly capitalize certain religious terms. I'm trying.

So, put simply, a rational non-believer like me simply doesn't believe some conscious entity created us. I guess the reason for that is that it simply doesn't add up. I always had religion around me growing up. My Great-Grandmother was extremely devout, watched Pat Robertson and similar guys constantly until she passed at the ripe age of 99. My parents occasionally went to Church and I always struggled with the notion of God. I read a lot of science journals and such when I was a teenager. I didn't understand all of it, but the more I learned, the less seemed to fit with religion. I understand the science behind why looking deep into space with big telescopes like the Hubble shows us stars that are over 13 billion light-years away. Do you know what that means? A light-year is a measure of distance equating to the distance light travels in a year. By measuring the "red shift" of light (which I won't go into here) we can figure out how far a star/supernova, etc. is away from us (it has to emit a lot of light). I get it. The math works. Astrophysicists have equations that predict what should be observed, and those observations work out.

And there isn't some anti-God conspiracy out there. Unless you consider the pursuit of facts (science) a conspiracy. I've worked for massive corporations and getting a small group of smart people to keep some small project secret and complete it at all is a heroic undertaking. Coordinating a vast conspiracy across nations and other boundaries just isn't plausible in the slightest.

Anyway, the observable facts that we can look at with our own eyes and touch with our hands, just don't line up with ancient religion. I don't think it matters what version of the Bible you read. It's all just old stories and mysticism from when man thought the earth was flat. And before you recoil from what I just said, please do contemplate my mindset: I do not start out assuming that God is real. I know for the devout that sounds utterly mad, but when you look around and see the things us non-believers get away with, don't you wonder? Why would God give babies bone cancer? Why do the innocent suffer while evil assholes (religious or not) prosper? Stillbirth? Is it God's plan? Is it really a mysterious plan that He gives us no insight into except from a 2,000 year old collection of often conflicting stories and mandates? It seems to me that the Universe is a totally crazy, chaotic place where anything, within the bounds of physics, is possible. Babies get bone cancer sometimes because there isn't some all-encompassing morality guiding things. In a really perverse way, all the horrible things are indirect proof of no God. I can go outside and yell all sorts of obscenities about God and Jesus up at the sky and nothing will happen to me (unless I go to Hell which just really seems terribly improbable at this point).

Thousands of years ago, man wondered what the stars were, what streaks of light across the sky were caused by. Some cultures thought thunder and lightning was from gods fighting, that volcanoes were the work of a vengeful god. We thought the sun and moon and stars and everything revolved around us (well, the moon does, but that's all, and lots of man-made satellites, go science!).

And you know what? All of those mysterious things have been explained as NOT being magic or mystical. We've NEVER investigated something and said, "Yup, there you go: God".

I've been seeing reassuring statistics lately that show the younger generations are less religious and that is likely attributable to the availability of alternative viewpoints via the Internet and other forms of low-cost communication. But the trend isn't really steep enough. I think we can do better as a country.

I saw an article today that a galaxy was discovered 12.5 Billion light years away that is as bright as 300 trillion of our suns. We live about 2/3rds of the way out from the center of a rather insignificant galaxy that is clustered with other insignificant galaxies that is, in turn, one of trillions of clusters of galaxies. The Universe is vast beyond comprehension and we're just tucked away in the corner. Lucky to have a chance to experience consciousness and life.

A lot of us atheists think this one brief life we get is pretty damn amazing and we make the most of it by enjoying children, loved ones, and working on fulfilling things. Just like the Faithful on this message board!

I don't hate Jesus or God. I simply don't think they're real. In logic and law, proving a negative is considered awfully hard to do and not a reasonable burden to expect from people. Nobody can prove that there isn't a God, but that doesn't mean there is one. Face it, you learned that from your parents. You believe it because that's what faith is. Faith, by definition, really makes no sense. It is belief despite facts. But it's OK to question things! It's human nature. Take off your cloak of faith for a moment, and let yourself wonder if maybe we're just here for a brief time and then gone. Like a lucky little spark.

It's utterly terrifying. It fills me with dread. Which is how a chaotic universe should make you feel. But, given all the shitty things we all see every day, it's probably the truth.

OK, this got long and the baby is waking up. I hope one person questions, just for a moment, the fundamental assumptions they've always abided by. I admit I could be wrong, too, and I'm willing to change my mind. I've changed it a lot over the years as I learn new things. Have you?

They will burn in the lake of fire for their perverse and contradictory ways and for discriminating against left-handed people (unless they repent of their wickedness), and when "Landover" and its occult followers do get thrown into the lake of fire, they will be told to "bendover" by the evil one (since thats what they do anyway, by the way they talk in this forums). Well... I have to admit I am not left-handed (although I do eat the left-handed way)... but after seeing this, I kind of wish I was. You are either born left or right-handed, and it isn't really choice unless you make a conscious effort to change it. Why the majority of people are born right-handed I'm not quite sure, but some people just cannot accept there are others who are different! You are ridiculous if you think left-handers are possessed by Satan - some of the left-handers I know are about as nice as you can get. But then, I don't believe anything from the bible, I think it's all nonsense, especially when we consider it's the same source that believed the Earth was around 6,000 years old, which turned out completely wrong.

Of course I am fully aware I am going to get banned from this ridiculous forum... in fact, I would go as far as saying that I want to. If I can become a 'Confirmed Enemy of God', that would make my day. Christians, say what you want, because I'm probably not coming back here.
