People might hate God for some reasons, but there is no difference if a gay guy hates God if a straight guy does too. Same thing would go for a lesbian and straight woman. Besides that, just because someone is gay doesn't mean that they can't be Christian. Anyone can be a Christian if they believe Jesus is the Savior.

Are you totally insane? Until the gay repents from being an abomination they have no chance. They should be thankful God has allowed secular law to outlaw killing them; a number of our congregation are ex-gays.

You can keep on saying the same thing over and over again but the Lord's word contradicts you over and over again - both old and new testament.

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Don't worry. In the same way as we accepted that the Earth goes round the sun and that Earth is a globe we will one day move forward and rejoice in gay weddings.

I yearn for the day I will perform my first gay wedding in my church.

What you Biblical literalists don't understand is that when specific teachings of the Bible cannot be squared with the overarching principles of the Bible, such as the love that Mother/Father God has expressed for us by sending us the Christ, then a correct interpretation of the Bible requires that we give precedence to the overarching principles. For example, that passage that one of your pastors quoted about a wife's submission to her husband was meant to address a specific situation at that time, since the overarching principle involved is the unique personhood of each of us.

It's a bit like this verse above. We must be an example to them of how to behave properly with love so they are won over by our example of true love. Obviously, the bit about being submissive really means be respectful and loving in today's context. We must be like wives to them!

What is your inspiration for your more enlightened stance? I often wonder where people draw inspiration from to see beyond the basic scriptures to a more gentle and loving God. For me, my love of Shania makes me strong.

Like, to me...I do know that Scripture tells us we have a everlasting loving God. But my inspiration is understanding as humans, why we need to comprehend each others' feelings and boundaries. As well as knowing what to do in order to solve the conflict in a reasonable way; not cause violence or hate because -- there are people who are different. It's that easy to understand.

But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8
