    Hi ,I am Jim Dewitt

    Good morning to all.
My partner on the truck suggested that I visit Landover church. He is a Baptist and for the past few years he has made a point of telling me why I should become one.I do not attend any church now nor have I ever.
I do believe in GOD and Jesus,I just have never found a church to my liking.I have a bible and I try to read it every day, I just wish that I had a better understanding of it.
I am married ,and I have two great kids. Both are teenage boys. Over the years ,I feel that I have somehow let them down, due to the fact that we as a family do not belong to a church. I now am on a mission to correct that.I just hope that its not to late!
    Jim

Re: Hi ,I am Jim Dewitt

Well James, that is a mighty fine first name you have there and a stellar, Godly occupation to boot.
What Bible do you use, Jim? I certainly hope it is a KJV1611. I also hope you own more than one as having multiple Bibles is one area of excess (along with many, many children) that God appreciates. After all, you are on the road and must have one with you to provide solace at lonely personal time at night, and your family needs a Bible for when you are not there to provide the needed guidance.
So Jim, what are your favorite verses in your Bible, mine is at the bottom here.

You are remiss in not belonging to a Church and tithing heavily. Even though NYC is a heathen cesspool (I was a floor trader on AMEX, so I know all about the depravity that goes on there), there are Churches. Though for me, I never (probably like you do now) felt quite at home. It was not till I moved to Virginia, into the Appalachians, that I was able to find God everywhere. You should consider moving. I own a few home sites I am willing to sell to a God fearing man.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Brother Hutchins it seems like you and Mr. Dewitt are hitting it off just fine for being newly introduced. Could you kindly inform Mr. Dewitt just how close to God using the spacebar can make a person feel? I don't want to interrupt or seem overtly strict.

Brother Dint, I understand your deep concerns. Normally, I'd be all over him like a priest on a choirboy but I am trying to be a kinder, more gentle True Christian™. All we can really do is lead by example.

Yes, Mr. Dewitt has a very fine first name. Don't you agree with me Brother Hutchins? There's something about the name James/Jim that is a favorite of God. Quick, name three holy men who are named James!

          1) Rev. Jim Bakker
          2) Rev. Jimmy Swaggart
          3) Rev. Jim Jones

Indeed, men like us with this name are more spiritual and blessed by God than men named, say, "Horatio" or "Marcel".

I have a King James Version 1611 on my night stand. I also have a small one in the cab of my truck. Picking up the refuse of man is a dirty job , so I keep it in the glove box and only read it when I have had a chance to wash my hands .

I guess one of my favorite Bible verses comes from the book of Joshua
Joshua 10:8 And the Lord said unto Joshua,Fear them not: for I have " delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee.

I am very sorry if my lack of use of the space bar has upset anyone, I will surely try and correct my errors

You left out a significant name from your list, Rev. Osborne and I know why. Due to you abundance of modesty and refusal of self promotion, you left out yourself! Certainly all of Landover kneels at you feet during orations.

You have to get of the truck and touch other peoples cans? Aren't there 'other people' who do that sort of thing?

Well, I have had space bar issues from time to time myself.

I deal with the unwanted refuse of humanity every day. I some time's wonder if my job is not like that of a pastor, I help with the trash of the world, you deal with souls, I deal with garbage!

What ever did you do that put you where you are today? Certainly you must have committed some horrific sins against Jesus. You know, the first step in cleansing oneself is to proclaim the burden of your sins for all the world to here so God may lift them from your shoulders. Confess, friend, let us help you.
