I study the New Jerusalem Bible (English) and the Bible de Jérusalem (francais) in conjunction with the Vulgate (Latin).
I am not trying to put down the king james Bible, I am pretty sure that if you study any Bible properly then you will not end up with a flawed message. BUT, I don't think that you are studying the your Bible as it was meant to be examined.
I personally believe that the Vulgate is the best translation that there is - English can't really grasp the entire message of God's work. Of course the best versions are the original Greek and Hebrew, However I am not competent enough to read them.
Of course it can't be ignored that your Bible has 66 books vs the 73 of the Catholic versions.
