Our tangible proof of God's existence is the Bible, because it says so within the Bible.

So what you are saying is, because someone back in the roman empire wrote a book, it is an act of god and proof that he exists?

Back then, no one believed stories of these creatures, just like atheists don't believe in God, and then the body of a platypus was brought to Europe and still atheists denied it (just like you deny that Jesus died temporarily).

And then the Platypus made it's entrance as a live specimen and everyone who had denied it felt stupid and became unemployable.

This is what will happen to atheists (only more so) at the 2nd Coming.

Could i have a link or something? i have heard not about atheists denying platypuses alone as a group...

do you have any proof of a second coming? And do not say the bible says so, because you still haven't answered how there is any proof that the bible is even true.

however, i will not feel stupid if there is a second coming. once i experience it, i will accept it, although my stand right now is truly rational. I have not experienced or seen god or miracles, and therefore, i have no obligation to believe in them, similar to your platypus story... there was nothing stupid about not believing in platypuses when there was no proof except for personal accounts (although i will admit, anybody who denied it after they had seen a living specimen, must be truly unintelligent...)

When establishing the church, there were many gospels. The Christians chose to take the ones that mentioned him as the son of god and awesome. Any other viewpoint is heresy. Whether or not you want to realize it, the truth is that we have no proof of the Bible. It is a very well written book, but the only thing that seperates it from Lord of the Rings or the Koran is the story inside, and the following it has obtained.

As the previous poster said, I do not have anything to repent for however. If I have nothing to repent for, logically I will not burn. But to get back on topic, all this supposition is based off the preconception that the Bible was entirely true and meant to be read as such. There simply aren't enough facts supporting that for me to feel the odds are in favor of a Second Coming.

but if i repent for my sins, i am only doing it to get into heaven... this is selfish, no? And i believe that Anybody who has ever repented for their sins has only done it for the reward, or out of fear for the punishment... its greedy, isnt that a sin in itself?

by this logic, we can deduce that the only people who deserve to go to heaven are those who do it without any knowledge or belief of its existence.. if somebody can do good without the carrot in front of them, or a stick behind them, they are truly the only ones that should go to heaven..

if you look at it, an atheist mind works mainly like yours... he does good things because he knows they are good, not because he is afraid of hell or hoping to go to heaven. the strange thing is, there are criminals, from all religious backgrounds... how odd is that?
