    Hello!

So, after reading quite a few of the posts here, I am sticking my foot in the proverbial pool... and hoping I don't get bit too hard My name is Susan, I go to Crossroads Church but my main ministry is in CMA, otherwise known as Christian Motorcyclists Association. We don't preach, we don't try to convert, we simply help people in need. If we see someone broken down by the side of the road, we offer to get them assistance. If they need fuel, we help them with that. If a neighbor needs groceries, we do what we can. It's just a matter of helping who we can, when we can. Other than that, I am in a band that plays at nursing homes and coffee houses and makes no money doing so... we just like to play. So... that's me... in a nutshell...
OH... my favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Proverbs 19:25 Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
Ezekiel 16:14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.
Proverbs 6:25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.
Genesis 24:16 And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.

      Re: Hello!

I saw that there were many here that were obviously very educated Biblically, and I felt it was a place that I could learn more. I believe we can always learn more and I take any opportunity I can to learn about God's Word.

        Re: Hello!

Well hello Susan, personally I'm not a fan of bikes, but I know there are others around who are riders. I'm sure they'll show up eventually.

So considering the public opinion of bikers, do people actually accept your help? Or do they roll up their windows and lock the doors?

Also, why would you not spread the word of God as we're commanded?

Matthew 28:19-20 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
PROOF: Atheists are too stupid to understand the Bible!

Proverbs 13:24(KJV): "He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes."

Galatians 4:16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

Hello Susan. It is always a surprise to learn the extent of God's Perfect Love to us. He mentions that we need not remain imperfect forever Romans12:2 and I know that I've been directed to many examples of His perfection here at Landover Baptist forum.

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to this; I just got back from having surgery. Regarding the question of why do I not want to save souls and why do I not do what the Bible commands and tell people of Jesus.... I do both of those things. I just don't do it in a way that is pushy towards someone I am stopping to help on the side of the road. I offer to pray with every single person I help, and often they ask about why I am helping them, which opens the door to tell them about Jesus and that He died on the Cross and Rose again to save them from their sins. I give them the chance to ask questions, I spend as much time as possible talking to them about what Jesus did for them and how they can have Jesus in their lives and I ask them if they want to ask Him into their hearts. Some do, and some don't want to hear it. If they don't want to hear it, I help them and move on. If they do want to hear it and are willing to listen, I take as much time as they are willing to give and give them the opportunity to learn. I carry a pocket size King James Bible, and I also have a King James Bible on my phone so I always have it with me and can reference what I need. It is my goal to always share the message of Christ with everyone I meet, be it through word or deed. Sometimes, the best message is by example....

Of course you won't. Remember, God is Love. That's what we're all about.

We don't preach, we don't try to convert, we simply help people in need.
Isn't someone who is bound for Hell a person in need? The Bible tells us to preach the Gospel to every living creature. I hope you will add that to your ministry.

If we see someone broken down by the side of the road, we offer to get them assistance. If they need fuel, we help them with that. If a neighbor needs groceries, we do what we can. It's just a matter of helping who we can, when we can.
That sounds like wonderful Christian charity, provided it doesn't interfere with your tithing. You can take charity too far, however. Remember what Jesus said to the Canaanite woman when he refused to cast a demon out of her daughter: "I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel... It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs." Matthew 15:24-26 Like Jesus, you should make the non-Christians admit that they are dogs before you help them.

Other than that, I am in a band that plays at nursing homes and coffee houses and makes no money doing so... we just like to play. So... that's me... in a nutshell...
                          I love Christian bands!

Glory! Jeremiah 29 is one of my favorite chapters of the Bible (of course, I love them all equally). I like the way God describes what he will do to those who have not hearkened to his words:

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will send upon them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and will make them like vile figs, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil. And I will persecute them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will deliver them to be removed to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and an astonishment, and an hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations whither I have driven them.... Jeremaiah 29:17-18

I am sorry about your surgery. Do you feel God has cursed you in some way? Surely you prayed to have your illness or deformity miraculously healed. The book of Mark says that if we have faith as a mustard seed, anything we ask in His name will be done for us, including healing the sick.

We lumberjacks in the coastal mountains of Oregon attend a pine wood church we built ourselves, since there's nothing else to do once the satanic eco-hippies made us stop cutting the trees God intended us to have. We speak in tongues and pray for healing. It's too cold for rattlesnakes in these mountains, so we handle skunks instead (they have a NASTY bite, I can tell you, not to mention the smell!). If the person being prayed over isn't healed, we assume they are cursed by God for some transgression and are sometimes left in the snow.

                              Why wouldn't God heal you?
Leviticus 13:44 He is a leprous man, he is UNCLEAN: the priest shall pronounce him utterly UNCLEAN; his plague is in his head.

2 Kings 6:25 And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass's head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove's dung for five pieces of silver.
