We do not beat our children, we correct them based on Biblical methods. We also have to follow secular law before Biblical law, so we have to agree, child abuse is illegal. Because of that and the fact that none of us has ever had an y charges, let alone even an investigation done, lends credence to being able to categorically state we do not abuse our children. Actually i kinda have proven it to myself, you see i live near Lake Michigan, I have gone there a couple times and have witnessed when boats sailing off, and i have looked at them with binoculars, and the farther they get, the lower they get as if they were sinking. This is because the earth is round, and the ocean is curved so the farther they get the more there going down the curve, if it was flat i would be able to see them the whole time.
Plus there was that one time we went to the moon and took pictures of the earth proving it was round... Now from your point of view: God created the earth round, back when the bible was writing we did not know the earth was round, so we assumed it was flat. Jesus never said anything about the earth being round or flat so we assumed it flat and wrote it in the bible.
I think that makes sense

Again even as a Christian you dont know for sure if it was God who said "Hit your children when there bad!" or if thats just what they put in the bible because that was the standard method of discipline back then.

We now have had psychologists prove why hitting your child is bad and will have a negative effect on them in the long run.
Sure if you hit your child when there bad, they will stop being bad, etc etc. But we now have better tools to teach our children why doing something that is wrong, is wrong.

You need to learn about the properties of light and the effects of intelligent pulling on light rays. This force of the Hand of God, 'pushes' the light rays down, so the greater the distance, the closer the rays get to the ground (or water in your case). If the Earth were sperical like you say, all the water would run to one side. If you do not beleive me, lake a pubble of water on top of a ball, make sure the water surface is curved like you claim. Silly isn't it?

Ok so yes gravity does effect light rays but not that much. And if they were effecting light that much the bottom of the boat wouldnt be clipped off, but the top. And if you have ever watched a boat ride of into the horizon you would know that it sinks but the top is still perfectly visible, at least until the whole thing is invisible.
