    Noob

Hello all. My name is Michael Johnson and I am from Indianapolis, Indiana. I am part of a church called Grace Evangelical Church. I came to Christ a few years ago, and my favorite Bible verse is Phil 4:6-7. I found this website and figured it'd be a good site to answer questions I have. A few of my questions have been answered already and I hope for more questions to be answered.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Welcome to the friendliest place on the Internet, Michael! Tell us, how many sons has your wife given birth to?

Also, Philippians 4:6–7 is a wonderful selection. Can you tell us, in your own words, what it means to you?

I would argue that this isn't the friendliest place on the Internet as I watch the sarcasm and the hatred for enemies persist. I am actually unmarried so I have neither a wife nor sons.

I thought that the Bible was not up for our own interpretation?

The Bible is indeed not up for interpretation so when we see what you think it means we'll know if you're a wretched scripture-twister.

Since it isn't up for interpretation, then I must agree that it is self-explanatory. Even a child understands. Read the verse. It means exactly what it says.

I'm also a big fan of Matthew 5:44.

I agree. It's a beautiful verse and one of the best in the Bible.

Unfortunately, many false Christians seem to misinterpret the verse and think it means to be a willing co-dependent in other people's sinning behavior. They encourage people to keep disobeying God, which sends those people straight to Hell.

Quite the opposite of love, indeed!

Michael, I am also a big fan of Philippians. Later in that very chapter is one of my favorites:

(Philippians 4:12) "I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need."

Talk about redemption! And the clear, concise language of the KJV Bible keeps me coming back for more.

                      Yours in Christ,

So when we love them that hate us should we
                        a. tell them fluffy things so they can keep right on sinning and go to Hell?
                        b. warn them that God will burn them if they don't stop sinning by referring to the actual Bible?

Your wishy washy cherry picking of scripture to twist it so God doesn't care if people are filthy sinners who flout His laws and spit in His face is actually hating those same sinners you claim to love.

Why do you hate God as He actually is revealed in the Bible?

I agree. There are so many false Christians who misinterpret scripture. So many people who are just so ready to embrace the sins of this evil and wicked generation. If we truly love our enemy, we should teach them the ways of Christ and how to go to heaven.
