Amen, brother! I just wish every so called Christian would simply sit down and read God's Word from cover to cover like a man who found it in the desert would to see what the LORD has to say to him or her.
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

I will, you never know what might happen. But will he forgive me for lying about being a Christian?

Of course He will forgive you, but right now He hates you.

        Proverbs 6:16-19
These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Forgiviness is what I want most right now, since most of those verses actually apply to me. So I'll read the bible and see what happens.

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

This may sound stupid... but I was reading the John 11. The story of Lazarus. I'm trying to mentally register this verse. Can someone explain it to me?

Right, look! Go and read the Bible. Start at Genesis 1 then read it. We're not here to puppy walk people looking for gotchas. Look at all the actual evidence for the real living God. It will all start to make sense why there are so many people confused about what God is because they simply don't know because they never read the Bible. At first it will surprise you because people have been lying to you about God for so long but once the reality of God hits you between the eyes and you know for real how much people have been lying to you about God and just making stuff up that makes them feel all warm and fluffy inside you might be ready to be a warrior for God's true nature.

Wonderful! Nicole, you do realize that the entire host of Heaven will sing with joy if you come to the Lord, right?

Why not try my Getting to Know God(c) Bible Study Program?

Step 1: Obtain a Bible, preferably King James.

Step 2: Obtain a notebook or notepad.

                Step 3: Read Genesis 1.

Step 4: In your notebook, write down what story you just read and where in the Bible it is. (e.g. Genesis 1: Creation.)

Step 5: Write down what the story told you about God. Whom does He love? Whom does He hate? What things please or displease Him?

Step 6: Repeat Steps 3-5 for succeeding chapters of the Bible.

Just completing the Getting to Know God program for the book of Genesis -- the work of an afternoon -- will paint for you a picture of God like you've never known, Nicole! You will be on your way to an intimate knowledge of God, who is truly nothing like the omnibenevolent wish-granting genie that many preachers would have you worship!

There was an awful lot of reading so I wasn't able to get through the whole book today (more tomorrow) but here's a some points I put down:

                        1. God created the Earth perfectly, humankind messed it up and he punished them, he didn't abandon them.
                        2. When we give to the Lord he wants the best and the first not second best.
                        3. God can deal heavy judgement... but I noticed that the type of judgement depends on the circumstances and the sin.
                        4. The Lord undid the terrible act of Cain and Abel with the birth of Seth.
                        5. God will bare with sinners for only so long before a line is drawn (The city of Sodom/ the great flood)
                        6. God keeps his promises
                        7. God hears our cries of pain (Hagar)
                        8. God protects and blesses those he loves
                        9. God is always doing something new
                        10. God has a plan

                        I'm interested now

It was a bit disheartening. I mean I wouldn't want to destroy something I created. But I guess it was something that had to be done.

You've certainly learned a few very good points about God, Nicole!

What does God's decision to drown all the babies who hadn't sinned yet, and all the animals, because the adults disobeyed Him, tell you about Him?

What do you learn about God from the Garden of Eden, in which Adam and Eve couldn't know right from wrong until they'd eaten the fruit from the forbidden tree?

I don't think you've gotten to Jacob and Esau yet. Of that pair, what attributes of Jacob do you think God liked so He chose Jacob over Esau?
