And the Lord was with Joseph. If God is with you then everything you do will prosper. Joseph got blamed for something he didn't do and God still was with him. If we remain faithfull to God he will always be there for us.

I also learnt something from Joseph's time with Potiphar’s wife. When confronted with tempation, saying 'no' isn't enough. You have to run from it or get rid of it.

This is such an interesting discussion! I do so love looking at these stories again and again. I hope you don't mind if I interrupt to ask a general question. Do you think Esau was not faithful to God? I know the Bible doesn't talk about this, but can you imagine Isaac's son NOT growing up knowing the power and might of Yahweh? It's just a thought that came into my head when I read your fabulous discussion!

I would love to spend some time marvelling at God's micro-management skills in pulling off the miracle of getting all the animals on the ark and enabling all the plants to survive being totally immersed for about a year.

The very scale of the disparity between the volume of all the animals and the volume of the ark is a source of deep wonder and strengthening of my faith. Clearly, if the LORD, who created heaven and earth, can speak through an ass, I imagine that filling up a boat with animals, plants, and inventing ways to keep a seemingly endless amount of hungry animals from eating each other and the plants apart, is not such an impossible task.
