Once again, I have scriptures for you!
First, here is one where Jesus stops the people from stoning a prostitute:
John 8:2-11
And one where he eats with sinners:
Matthew 9:9-13
(John 8:3-4) "And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act."
Do you know the difference?
And that doesn't quite mean "hanging out" now does it?

He's a false Christian (universalist) "pastor" who preaches lies about the Bible. Lies that make people feel good, and say what they want to hear.
As for proving Jesus spent time with sinners; I didn't disagree. I said He did not "hang out" with them, but He witnessed to them because they were the ones needing guidance. It is rather difficult to witness to someone without spending time with him.Bell says, "This is not just the same old message with new methods. We're rediscovering Christianity as an Eastern religion, as a way of life. Legal metaphors for faith don't deliver a way of life. We grew up in churches where people knew the nine verses why we don't speak in tongues, but had never experienced the overwhelming presence of God."[9]
Bell's most recent book, Love Wins, caused a major controversy within the evangelical community. The controversy was the subject of a Time Magazine cover story and a featured article in the New York Times.[22][23][24] In the book, Bell states that "It's been clearly communicated to many that this belief (in hell as conscious, eternal torment) is a central truth of the Christian faith and to reject it is, in essence, to reject Jesus. This is misguided and toxic and ultimately subverts the contagious spread of Jesus' message of love, peace, forgiveness and joy that our world desperately needs to hear." In this book, Bell outlines a number of views of hell, including universal reconciliation (also known as universalism). Though he does not choose any one view as his own, he states of the universalist view, "Whatever objections a person may have of [the universalist view], and there are many, one has to admit that it is fitting, proper, and Christian to long for it."
How does showing he ate with them prove anything otherwise?Bible boring? Nonsense!

Re: Hi!
Adulteress, not prostitute. Try reading the Bible for yourself, son, instead of relying on the false teachings of false preachers. That is beside the point, however.Originally posted by godpower97 View PostFirst, here is one where Jesus stops the people from stoning a prostitute:
John 8:2-11
Note what Jesus says to the harlot in verse 11: "Go, and sin no more." Jesus didn't say, "Sure, keep on being a harlot. Sinning is fine." He said to stop sinning.
As True Christians™, the possibility of committing sin is not even possible.
I John 3:6-9
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God..
Philippians 2:13
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
So as you can see, if anyone is to cast the first stone, it is us - the perfect, Blood-bought children of the Lamb.
The only reason they were sinners is because Jesus had not yet made His temporary sacrifice, enabling man to have his sins washed away by the Blood of the Lamb. Notice how the instructions on whether to associate with sinners were updated following His temporary sacrifice:And one where he eats with sinners:
Matthew 9:9-13
I Corinthians 5:11
But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
II Thessalonians 1:7-9
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power

Re: Hi!
Fundamentally, adultery and prostitution are the same thing: immoral sex outside of a marriage. The fact that Jesus ate with sinners does not prove that he alot of time with them, no. But it's evidence that he did, no? After all, we never see him eating with with the pharisees, which were the "pastors" of his day.
Well if the apostles weren't fishermen originally, than what were they? Yes some of the apostles obviously had other professions, but there is only one that is recorded of having an upper class job, which was Luke (a doctor.) There was nothing especially amazing about the apostles, except that the were called by Jesus.
So to get back to the root of this argument, I don't see what is wrong with spending time with atheists. After all, I don't think many atheists have converted from what is done on this site. (Note I didn't say none, just many.)Ecclesiastes 4:5 The fool foldeth his hands together, and eateth his own flesh.

That depends on whether you are trying to win their souls for His Kingdom or not. Trying to convert sinners to Christianity is encouraged. Indeed, it is not even an option, if you take your faith seriously.Originally posted by godpower97 View PostSo to get back to the root of this argument, I don't see what is wrong with spending time with atheists. I Timothy 4:1-5
I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
Outside of witnessing, however, we are to have no fellowship with the unsaved. It looked to me like you and that atheist scumbag were verging on finding a chatroom so you could go cyber-sex with each other. The Scriptures command us to be separate from the unsaved.
II Corinthians 6:14-17
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,II Thessalonians 1:7-9

I'll type it BIG and REALLY SLOWLY:
I AGREE THAT HE SPENT TIME WITH THEM. IT'S NOT POSSIBLE TO WITNESS TO SOMEONE WITHOUT SPENDING TIME WITH THEM!!
HE WITNESSED TO THE SINNERS, NOT TO THOSE WHO ALREADY KNEW THE LAW, BECAUSE THE SINNERS NEEDED GUIDANCE!!

15 And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him.
16And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners?
17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them,
They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
